Muted nose and palate upon opening, so decanted for 3 hrs.
Paired with grilled salt-rubbed ribeye steaks. Ripe, bold, viscous, and good heat. Aromas and flavors of black cherries, blueberries, cola, vanilla, and black tea. Velvety, well-integrated tannins that still provide good structure. Perhaps a bit round.
Wasn't sure about the score upon pnp'ing, but I suggest airing out the wine a bit, as it worked for me regarding coaxing out the flavors. Juicy, strong fruit, a great textbook Napa cab for the pricepoint. Drink now through 2027.
91 pts for me.

This is a really nice Napa Cab. The tannins are well-integrated. There is plenty of dark fruit. Close to seamless texture. Medium to full body. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this wine.

Pop and pour from a 375. Floral nose also shows dark cherries and a tinge of alcohol. Fruit continues across the pallet with a polished, dry, but shallow finish that the lingers quite a bit.
Not particularly complex but a great half bottle for under $15. Will drink my remaining in this format during CY23.

Opened anothet of these half bottles since I thought some might want a bit of Cab for Thanksgiving. I like the lighter one a little more on this day. In any event, exactly like my last bottle. Went well with the ham. Still have four left of a six pack.

Great everyday drinking Cab from Sonoma. Poured from a 375ml bottle. First of six and this had a wonderful nose and palate. On the palate, I got notes of blackberry, cherries, creme de cassis, and a really pleasant finish. Wanted to try these half bottles to check in on them. Really enjoyed it and will have another soon.

Received as a gift. It exceeded my expectations. Not a lot of complexity but well balanced and an overall good mid week Cabernet. I could see this inching up a point or two with a few more years of proper cellaring.

Another 375 pop and pour. Fruit driven with red cherry, faint strawberry and rhubarb towards the finish. There’s a polish on the soft spoken finish, which doesn’t have great depth or last long, but it’s pleasant. Still a solid value for the price. Not long lived but should be good thru 23+.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (M&R's): Notes of cassis, plum and chocolate. Medium-bodied with slightly firm tannins and flavors of black currant, plum and macerated black berry fruit. Picks up a bit of barrel spice through the midpalate and finish. (V&M)

30 minutes of bottle air from a 375. Red fruit, currants and flowers on the nose. Leaves a very dry finish on the front palate. Still solid with minimal air and and excellent value from Last Bottle. No rush -wish I bought more of these at $14

Nice red fruit flavor (red currant, raspberry), plum and some vanilla. Soft mouthfeel, smooth tannins. Nice wine. Recommend drinking now to 2024, as I don’t think this has the depth or tannin structure to support long term cellering.

Really enjoyed this 2016 Napa cab! Opened this one a little while back with a NY strip, sautéed mushrooms and patatas a la brava, and the steak brought out the richness and balanced depth of this lovely wine. That 375 ml half bottle went really fast! Sure, you could wait a bit, but it’s delicious right now! Good thing I still have a couple more in the cellar! An LB purchase.

Decanted for close to 2 hours. Big aromas of dark fruit. Medium to full wine with a great mouthfeel and grippy tannins. This wine is very enjoyable now, but the tannins dominate and are not as polished as I hope they'll be soon. I'll try another bottle in about a year.

Pop and pour from a 375. 45 mins after opening there’s faint forest on the otherwise non-descript nose. Smooth and approachable with a silky 15 second finish. Doesn’t need to age and would drink by 2023. Great value at $14 in this format

On the nose some cherry, dark fruit and leather. The palate is medium plus bodied, not as much heft as many Napa Cabs but still substantial. The cherry and leather carries into the palate along with blackberry and prunes as well as a refreshing dose of acidity and spicy pepper. Tannins are soft but present. I very much appreciate that this wine is quite dry for a Napa Cab as I personally don't enjoy jammy wines. The finish is medium plus length.
For the price, (I paid $25) it's a great wine. It went well with the duck breast and hanger steak we had tonight. It was full enough to keep up with the intense flavors and the acidity cut through the fats well. I'll try cellaring a few of these and check on them in a few years but it's enjoyable to drink now. It just doesn't have the oomph and richness one typically seeks in a Napa Cab, but if you'd like something a touch lighter with good acidity this is a great choice.

A ripe, heady nose of jammy black currant, cassis, vanilla, and toast. The palate is leathery and rich, with chocolatey fruit and tons of spice, leather and black olive. This is one of the richer, less graceful ‘16 Napa Cabs I’ve had so far. Ample tannin and concentration, maybe it’ll develop nicely.

Enticing aromas of currants and cranberries spring from the glass in this rich and luxurious wine. Flavors of blueberry and strawberry coat the palate with hints of cocoa and a touch of cardamom on the finish. This is a full-bodied wine with fine-grained tannins and a long and intense finish.

Clear medium ruby; clean medium plus nose of rich jammy brambleberries, toast and savoury herbs; dry; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; high alcohol; medium body; medium plus flavour intensity; pfn with jammy fruit and cocoa; medium plus finish; drink now or in 5 years - still a little simple

This is a nice, solid Napa Cab. My only questions are, "Which way will this wine go from here? Will it improve with some more time?" There may not be sufficient underlying tannin to help this one age.

I've been looking for a wine that would be '92+' quality at an '85' price and this is it. Bold with black fruit/currant aroma and taste. Medium acidity and tannins with a long smooth finish. 20% new French oak/10 months was a winning call and the sourcing is as good as it gets with Oak Knoll to Rutherford grapes. This wine is a quality/value winner of the year.

Consistent with an earlier tasting, but sweeter than I recall or reported, this was bright garnet colored, medium full bodied, rich and opulent with intense structure, slightly obtuse, rich aromas and flavors of sweet ripe black berry, black cherry and black currant with notes of milk chocolate and touches of spice and licorice, fine-grained tannins that are soft with a full-bodied mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish.
I decanted this wine for over 2 hours. It has a fruity nose but is thin and still very tight, though it opened a little more in the glass. It probably won't really be drinkable for another few years. If you can wait, please do. It might be really good then.

The backbone of this is 10 acres of Bartalucci Vineyard (St Helena) in Napa (near Raymond). That is a more recent acquisition for Boisset. Eastern foothills and older vine Cab from Oak Knoll go into here now as well. Aged just under 2 years. Oak shows a little more on the palate. As rusticity.
