The 2017 Benoit Ente Clos de la Truffiere is heading to a phase where its reduction has softened enough to be enjoyed. Firmly stacked white tree fruits, sleek citrus and saline flavours on the mid-palate. Beautifully delicate and finessed with great precision. Less new oak influence and slightly more gentle than the stunning 2014. Drink 2022-2042. (91/100)

Late night at Maison Dakota. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Thin legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of fragrant slick white peach, flint stones minerality, perfume, gentle citrus lemon, salty popcorn. Opens up with more air definitely. Developing. On the palate, dry, focused high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of chalky flint stones minerality, wet stone, salty saline with more air, white peach, concentrated citrus lemon. Long finish. Very good quality. Premium Puligny, just on the tight side now and needs more age to unfold.

Plenty of smoky mineral action. has pristine orchard fruit aromas and flavours. It is compact and detailed, with a huge puff of chalk to the finish. Needs time but there's real quality here.

2017 (mostly) Cote de Beaune Premier Crus vol 1 (Margeaux Brasserie): Nose: The nose was open for business after a few hours of air with pears, limes, meyer lemons, peaches, vanilla, white florals, a touch of dough, and saline tones. There is excellent depth and poise that is enticing and keeps drawing me back for more.
Taste: The feel is medium bodied with crisp, medium+ acidity. The acidity has some edge and cut that shows youth along with vibrant tones of apples, limes, meyer lemons, peaches, white florals, saline, and some dough.
Overall: This could use a few more years to fully come together, but it's in a really great place if you give it some air ahead of time. There is a lot of freshness to the citrus notes with racy minerality.

2017 White Burgundy Dinner (Brasserie Margeaux - Chicago IL): Subtle floral beginning with green and yellow apple aromas and flavors. Rich start with good weight, but this grows and expands towards long-ish, minerally finish. Very classic and lithe. Good now, but better 2022-. My favorite wine tonight for its potential.

Dinner at Alinea: Everyone says this needs time, but wow, it was great last night. Heavy minerality. Super wine.
