This had an excellent nose of tropical fruits , coconut was most evident. On the palate this wine was a bit austere/ steely , not bad just not the smooth creamy'ness I was expecting. I can't say anything other than hope for better next bottle in a few years , more air would likely have been beneficial this evening.Fine/Good.

Creamy lemon and ripe orchard fruits.. abundant use of oak here or at least very very obvious. Enough fruit though to carry all that makeup. 2018 vintage plastered all over. Not sure about cellaring potential though, acid seems to be lagging the fruit

Five months after the prior, and our fifth: Again quite rich and round, displaying a cornucopia of spices. Decent acidity keeps it lively — or at least prevents it from being flabby. Quite complex, and highly enjoyable.

Very 2018. There is a richness here aromatically typical of the vintage. Quite ripe, tropical but not in an overdone type of way. Still reserved, developing nicely over two days. In the mouth, powerful, definitely somewhat closed and a little turned in on itself at the moment. Somewhat narrow on the mid-palate, but weighty and medium deep. Good wine. Needs 5 years.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Walk around tasting. Richness has intensified since tasted from barrel, this is riper than typical, but also less elegant in its youth. There are a few jagged edges that show that fat. Hold for a few years, but I also wouldn't cellar this long-term, so probably best 2024-2030.

Two months after the prior, and our fourth: Lovely. Again quite rich, showing a cornucopia of savory cinnamon and related spices. Sufficient acid to provide backbone. Extremely enjoyable over three nights.

Nine months after the prior: lovely again, showing once more dramatic spices and maybe a touch of cinnamon. A bit more savory and vibrant than what we recalled previously. Excellent over three nights, developing nicely along the way.

Seven weeks after the prior: similar, and yet perhaps even more lovely this time. Dramatic spices, with a hint of cinnamon. Extremely enjoyable over three nights — and we purchased more.

Golden straw. Generous, rich, savory. There is a lovely and somewhat sweet spiciness to this — similar to the excellent 2017 bottling, but perhaps just a smidge more subdued, at least at this young stage. Good acidity, long finish. This was fabulous over three nights, pairing beautifully with morels infused risotto.

Joseph Drouhin Cellar Visit and Tasting with Vero (Beaune): Barrel tasting at the domaine. From both parcels. Lemon and green apple with good density and dancing textures I truly enjoyed. Lively and long finish. 90-91 point potential.

Powerfull nose, Drouhin spices, slight gunpowder and sloght exotic fruits. M+ body and ballanced acidity, more sweet spice, some gravel.

Big and rich and needs more time as it finishes with a sharp edge.

Honey and wet stone on the nose, even more on the palate. Just delightful.
