Tasted after 90 minutes of air. Always one of Mike's best wines. The hauntingly beautiful Champoux nose. Just takes you to 11. Spicy red cherry fruit. Balanced by some dusty tannins. Very smooth and long. The finish goes on and on.

My previous bottle was last June and my notes then are almost exactly the same for this bottle. The final wine of the evening at an Indian restaurant with my wine group. Opened, but not decanted for over 90 minutes before pouring. I may be shorting this a point, as I really enjoyed it. Packed with blue fruit and a long finish. It is still young. IMHO, out of all the other wineries that source grapes from the Champoux vineyard, this is the one that comes closest to Quilceda Creek style and quality.

So reverse of the last review and sampled on day 3. Rocking to put it mildly. For those Silver Oak, Caymus and Opus One drinkers this is a less and better. Cassis, gravel, spice, rose petals, menthol, black licorice and earth. Super complex wine and just shows you can get a world class wine for under $50.

Day 1: This would be $150 in Napa. Oak, vanilla, dark cherry, plum, dark chocolate, spice and minerals. What an amazing value here. 93 points Day 2: Even better. Minerals, dark cherry, dark chocolate, spice, rose petals, perfume and mild oak. Wine is very balanced and medium plus finish. A true value. 94 points

Tasted after 3 hours of air. Nice champoux floral scent. Medium ruby color. Sweet red berry fruit. Firm tannins. Nice balance. The floral lift on the mid palate is what sets this apart from other Januik wines. Just evaporates on this palate with lovely bliss. Some spice. Medium long finish.
Tasted after 45 minutes of air. Went great with some steak kabobs.... Would also go great with one of Donnie's pizzas. Round sweet red berry fruit. Nice floral lift on the mid palate. Deep purple color. Good crunch to provide balance. Savory fruit on the finish.

Day 5: Solid with cherry, spice, plum and mild oak. This had been in the fridge and drank over five days. Actually better than the previous bottle and this will do well with some cellaring.

Tasty cabernet. Surprisingly less bold and dry than Januik Columbia Cab. Quite fruit forward.
