Beautifully balanced with big mouth feel and ripe, chewy tannins. Blackberries, leather, vanilla spice, and graphite. This improves with a bit of air. Strong acid so should age at least another decade.

A total pallet pleaser that needs about 30 mins to breathe. Fruit forward and jammy drinkable now but should definitely cellar for the price point. 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc, 28% Merlot

Cadence's 2017 Tapteil is an opaque garnet, single-vineyard blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc and 28% Merlot. This particular bottle was Vinturi-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing two hours. Fully expressive after the first hour in decanter, it unleashes an aromatic profile of black currants, dark plums, lavender, tree bark and spiced vanilla. Full-bodied, freshly acidic and with well-integrated alcohol (14.4%), it delivers flavors that mirror the nose, adding some bittersweet chocolate and a judicious amount of creamy oak. The tannins are plentiful but quite fine-grained, creating a silky-textured mid-palate and lengthy finish. This delicious wine is a testimony to what can be achieved within the Red Mountain AVA. It may ultimately merit a higher score as it evolves over the next decade. Drink now-2032.

Big bruiser of a fruit bomb. Like, hit you in the face with a sack of blackberries. Really tasty, though, in an obvious way.

Absolutely wonder; drank over 5 hours. Subdued out of the cellar, warmed up and developed into a powerful Red Mountain blend. Right in my sweet spot.

Great nose, black cherry, spices. Full body with nice structure, chewy. Firm tannins that are well integrated.
