Fantastic. Gave 15 minutes of air to clear up some initial bitterness on the finish and then magic. Perfect balance. Tannins and acidity are enough to give complexity but not overwhelm the delicate flavors. Even Jen loved it and it’s a cab. But more of this.

Took a moment to breathe and then exceptional. Perfect balance. Full flavor. Tannins and acidity were enough to be complex but not overwhelming. Even Jen loved it despite being a cab after 15 minutes of air. Buy this!

Lots of menthol/bay leaf, with red and black fruit. Improves with time in glass. Definitely needs more time - but I must say, for the price, I was not blown away. I have a high tolerance for assertive Chilean pyrazine -- that was not the detractor here; more the lack of savory mineral quality that I want in a wine at this price.

This is a beautiful wine. Creamy mocha. Long silky finish. Alcohol well balanced with acidity. I suspect this wine will get even better in a decade or more.
I love this wine.

Nice purple color- at bit musty on the nose but as it gets more air this goes away. Smooth, good red fruit and slight blue fruit notes. Good alcohol. This is a good wine but may need more time- just not quite put together yet in my mind, but I can’t really place why. Good components but together not yet ready.

Notes from memory. Decanted for 2 hours. Dusty cherry and black currant fruit. Some green accents like bell pepper. Somewhat firm acid and tannic backbone. A little mocha on the finish. Expect improvement with more bottle age.

This is a 30th year anniversary signature wine from Puente Alto Vineyard of Don Melchor. Ruby color is deep but not as much as I think. Perhaps this 2017 is still young. Nose smell with black berries. The palate is with dark fruit, chocolate, peppers, vanilla and smoky. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and full of tannins and dry. However, this wine is balanced with tannins and acidity and tends to be bold with medium to full bodied experience. If this wine is stored for several more years, I tend to think the future experience will be much better. That said, this young wine can still be opened with good and strong experience. I shared this wine with friends and paired it with steaks, sausages and spicy chicken. I love this wine with its balanced nature at different occasions which may suit friends and significant half who have strongly unfavorable bias to the tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon. Personally I like both strong and balanced tannins. I am expecting to buy the 2016 and 2017 in coming month. Cheers to those who enjoy Cabernet Sauvignon from the American Continent during Covid.
Deep ruby, almost purple in color. Dark red and black fruits, tobacco, vanilla, baking spice, and some floral notes on the nose. Cherry, blackberry, vanilla, cocoa, tobacco. Relaxes tannins, very smooth, medium long finish. Tad bit of alcohol on the nose, but overall a really good Cab and my first Chilean Cab. Excellent.
Smells a little hot - fruit has a slight baked quality to it; some vegetal/green aromas as well; good entry, classic cassis and blackcurrant leaf, nice elegance here. Fruit unfurls nicely but its a bit angular and the alcohol stick out a bit. Needs time, not showing ideal balance at present. Good potential though.
A bit lighter than one would expect for a young wine, but soft tanin, finesse with a steak, it holds up with a nice finish. Hints of oak, light red fruit not overpowering.

Pretty solid cab, with its unique sense of terroir, quite concentrated, a bit firm. Showing reasonably well, but will benefit from more time.

Still could use some time to balance. But has potential to increase score. I will hold for another 3-5 years before trying again.

Jam, fig, prune, cooked blacked fruits. Sweet, high acidity and tannin. Full bodied and pronounced nose intensity and flavour. Very good quality.
