Not up to my expectation. The flavors were not at all bright as expected and the showed like the fruit had gone too soon. Nit picking right here but not a usual issue in past Seghesios.

This bottle was quite decent, but for my taste a bit tart for a California Zin. Included a bit of tannins, but not overly so. I think the 2026 end-date might be optimistic.

Liked this...liked it better with food! a bit sweet up front...ended with some sour cherry notes... with food it was way better! Ate it with beer marinaded Smoked and Seared Flank steak with Columbian Guacamole sauce (fresno chili based). Grilled asparagus, and corn on the cob.

Tasted alongside Seghesio Pagani 2017. Bright and juicy raspberry and cranberry with prolonged black pepper on the finish. Somewhat disjointed but may come together better w age.

This bottle was all about fruit blackberry and black raspberry. Tasty and refreshing with just a touch of prickliness. Just didn't have what I expected from other bottles of Rockpile: lacked tension and briariness.

May have done better waiting a bit longer to dive into this tannin-forward Zin, and don’t forget to let her breathe. Overall gets better with each sip, for a very balanced finish and multiple fruit notes.

This bottle was loaded with huge fruit and a ton of bright and fruity briariness. For most Seghesio Zins, I prefer a few more years of age , but this one sings in its youth. I believe it was the 2014 Rockpile that did not strike me the way this one did at all. The mouthfeel on the wine is quite big and it drinks well alone or with food.

Big fresh dark fruits but all about a lovely black pepper throughout the mouth. Balance is very good but at this early time in the wine's life the pepper is heavy. We ate spicy tacos with the wine and the spice in the tacos multiplied the pepperiness by a factor of 5-10. I loved it but many may not. Between the big fruit, big tannin and big pepper I loved this wine

Another exceptional bottle: Big luscious fruit and big briary character, all mixed together with lots of tension that excites the tongue.

Bold flavor. Still young and tannins need some time to relax.
