45 minute decant. Nose of black cherry, black plum, caramel, and blood orange. Energetic rush of cherry and red fruits, strong acidity, and floral notes that expand across the tongue, adding minerals and a peppery zing. Resolved tannins, rocks, cranberry, red plum and kirsch provide a juicy finish with lingering acidity.

Some sweet raspberries, red licorice and cherries on the nose along with baking spices. Big bold palate of raspberries, sour Blackberries, and sour cherries. A lot of character and depth. Tannins are so well melded they are practically unnoticeable. Medium plus finish. Silky smooth texture. Unctuous.

Had this the same night as the Clos St Jean CdP. A nice Italian version of syrah. Cherries, vanilla spice and pepper all well represented in the aromas and on the palette the cherry and peppery finish stood out for me. This was a very nice wine and drinks quite well with not too much time after opening.

This showed a little tooty fruity, juicy, with some slight oak showing at this stage, nice and elegant. This does not match my description of my small taste the day before, which showed lots of smoke and intensity. I absolutely loved this the day before, here it was lighter and juicy, like the Cote Rotie was. Could've gotten mixed up line-up, who knows. At any rate, this was good, fine, Syrah. Clean medium ruby/purple; clean medium plus nose of pepper, vanilla, cloves and red cherries; dry; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; medium plus body; medium plus flavor intensity; pfn with addition of slightly sweet red cherries; medium plus finish; outstanding quality; drink in another 5 years - this is built to age; they’ve been making Syrah since 1984
