Pinot forward, dark leesy aromas. Big acidity, w/ generous PN fruit.
Argyle was started in the mid-80s (1987?) by Roland Soles. Started with sparkling. 512 acres. Now practicing Regenerative Farming.
This is the same base wine that goes in the regular Brut. Vintage Brut is 36m and then ET Brut is 120m. Vintage Brut is 20,000cs/year, disgorged on demand in 150cs lots.
House Style=Pinot Noir=elegant, fruit purity, ‘creamy mid-palate,’ cranberry aromas, dry 5000cs Chard now too

Again I did a poor job of taking notes as this was over a week ago but I wanted to document that I had this. Very smooth, lovely lemon flavor. Probably the best Argyle I’ve had.

This is still much like it was at the winery tasting a year ago when I basically decided to minimize my usual purchase of the Extended Tirage release. In a ripe vintage, I think Argyle picked conservatively (too early) in an effort to capture the requisite acidity, minerality, citrus notes and missed the extra week that would have brought some of the fruit complexity and phenolic ripeness that I believe is equally important. An extra year in the bottle following disgorgement has mellowed it a bit, but this needs years more IMO. On the second day (stoppered) it began to show better integration and depth with just a touch of brioche and apple. Held well across the temperature spectrum, so there is hope here. Try it now if you have multiple bottles, but definitely hold something for 5-10 years from now.

Drank for Mother's Day, out of Riedel's Pinot Noir glass. Much improved in taste and smell over what we had at the winery last Fall. I think the glasses helped a lot... Very fine, well developed, but not overpowering Chardonnay. This had a lot of finesse and complexity. Based on this tasting I will order some more of this wine, if still available, and - in future - drink my champagne out of bigger glasses...

Just beautiful. The extended tirage has such complexity. The time on lees adds mouthfeel and flavor (bready, yeasty) and that makes the fruit so well balanced to the acidity. Sn awesome wine.

Tasted at the winery: The best of all the sparkling wines tasted. Very fine mousse and subtle nose; at first it seemed like it had lost some freshness, but the underlying acidity asserted itself after a while. I bought 2 bottles and will see how they develop over the next couple of years.

From magnum. Medium bubble number and size. Green apple, pear and a touch of lemon. Moderate brioche and nutty accents. Thanksgiving in NC.

Truly exceptional value, both quality and price. Wonderful after a Champagne Coravin. Still vibrant. Ageless. Perfect for a P&P on a hot night. BUY.

Delicious, balanced, complex, lots of very small bubbles. Great with the first Dungeness crab of the season.

Excellent bottle of Sparkling Wine. First exposed to Argyle with the Knudsen Brut and enjoyed it.
This Extended Tirage is really something. A great way to say AMF to 2020.

Bursting with fruit. Has a creamy and textured structure. A hint of abuse in the finish. Fabulous bubbly.
