This is my fifth bottle of this wine in the past 17 months! I think what that speaks to is how approachable and enjoyable most of the wines from Ecluse are upon and shortly after release. Might it get better with time? I am not sure it would. It is a very solid and delicious blend of syrah, grenache, and mourvedre.
See tasting note from 2-1-2020 - very consistent!

Excellent QPV! Unfortunately, I only got a little taste of this one. It is relatively light - it doesn't smack you in the face. But it was very enjoyable!

Yeah man, can’t go wrong with a Paso Robles GSM. Or with Écluse, for that matter. Light plum color. Sweet spice aroma. Light acidity and light tannins in the mouth. Oak, vanilla, and cranberry sauce flavors. Long finish into vanilla and nutmeg, very nice.

One of the things I truly appreciate about the most all of the wines from Eclusé is their approachability in the early years of their release! This S-M-G blend was excellent! The syrah and the mourvedré give this an enjoyable earthiness. There are abundant flavors of dark plums and dark berries. The grenache gives it a baking spice lift along with some vanilla from the oak. very approachable. Very enjoyable!

I’d like to tell you it opened up over an hour, but I don’t think it lasted that long. Balanced and lovely. Exactly what I needed at the time.
