  • Didn't like the first glass of this, but it evidently needed air and (particularly) warmth to loosen up and start showing its full potential. At first, a tension between the touch of residual sugar and the bitter, overly angular finish, but the latter abated and the perfume asserted itself. Honey, bitter Amaro-like herbs, a touch of creaminess towards the finish. Intriguing and elegant.

  • Lemon pith, wax, honey, white blossom. On the palate and finish, slightly more herbal, hint of aniseed and orange pith. Off dry (but not notably sweet), high acidity, medium body. Med+ finish. Very good quality. Drinking well now but will almost certainly develop with time in the bottle. Remarkably good value at £14.95 a bottle from the Wine Society.
