Pretty wine. Not improving at this stage; drink it. Cranberry , cherry rose tar. Good mineral. Solid fresh acid still tannic. Built for the table and not for long aging. But still has nice complexity and depth. Finish remarkably long. Nebbiolo really shows here. But has brambles and fruit of primitivo. I’m happy this seems to have seen no oak.

I'll agree with Galloni on his 'bright & vibrant' notes ... but not his sporty 92pts. This paired well with food [duck breast on baguette, pizza] but was otherwise not great on its own.

Spicy nose. This is a bit grapey, but there is an herbal quality here similar to Gamay. This is a field blend of 12 varietals, but is mostly Croatina and Nebbiolo. Aged for a year in stainless steel. This is meant to be drunk young.

Second time in the last two months with this wine.
I really wanted to like it as I love Alto Piemonte wines. Realizing that it’s super young, I’ll reserve final judgement but comment that, like the previous bottle, although there is freshness, the flavors are on the cola, raisin and leather spectrum, all of which I generally don’t appreciate and as for my taste speak to a rustic wine, feral in nature and lacking precision.
I’m starting to sense that the wines of Boca which I’ve had all share those similar flavors and just may just not be in my wheelhouse.

Deep ruby. Interesting nose of white flowers, black cherries and earth. Grapey, textured, chalky tannins. Easy drinking The over all profile of the mouthfeel reminded of dolcetto.

Black cherry, earth, hint of wood smoke. Fairly acidic but not overwhelmingly so, was great with food or on its own. One of those bottles that was gone way too soon. Really enjoyed this.

Sweet nose: raspberry, black cherry, cherry drops and rose at first. Evolving into peppery, herbal, farmyard complexity. On the palate, high acid (farmy and sour), followed quickly by chalky tannin, spice in the back of the palate. So nice!

Dark cherry, blackberry, raspberry. Lots of airy herbs and spice: fennel, woodsy Madagascar peppercorns, cacao, rosehips, among others. Fresh and open-knit, juicy and a little grapey. Easy tannins but not especially smooth, this is tense and a little nervy, but it is also effusively fruity. Great texture, length and balance. No reason to save it, as it is so pleasing today, but it will hold for at least 5 years. Complex and joyful, this stuff is so good, and that's not even considering how great a value it is.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color dark Crimson. Can't pin down a varietal but there is rosemary and rose petals on. nose. Swishing shows acid and tannin structure. Sipping shows a core of cherry fruit the persists on the finish. Good value and tasty wine.

Sing me a song of fruit and stones / Oh young bull running down the hill! / Twelve grape field blend / one year in steel / rich but gawky / and complicated still / Aromatic and deep / drink now / or forever hold your peace.

I've liked other Le Pianes in the past but no thrills here. Good color, sweet nose, sweet on the palate, more like an Italian merlot than nebbiolo.
