Sorry to see this one go, and not long after this incredible winemaker passed away. This is just sneaking into it’s drinking window and is sadly my last bottle, although I’ve enjoyed a few ER’s. Delicate raspberry, cinnamon and vanilla on the front end, strawberry jam & roasted filbert mid-palate, and hints of quince and fig spread on the finish. So good…

Ruby in color and cherries and cola on the nose. Well balanced acidity and tannins. Meaty cinnamon and cloves across the palate with a long silky finish! Paired surprisingly with BBQ pork chops 🤪

Amazing bottle!!!! Could open up for a few hours before drinking but we couldn’t wait that long ;)
It would definitely be better with maybe a could more years of age but i got a ton of compliments on this wine tonight and i am super happy with how perfectly balanced it was!

A compromise order over dinner; I got a steak, wife got beef bourguignon. Huge blast of spices on the nose and palate; cinnamon, allspice, cloves. Bright, fresh acidity in front lovely red fruit. Just enough grip. Extremely long finish. Really excellent stuff.

Paired with Thanksgiving turkey legs brined with the recipe from Yankee Clipper magazine back in the day. Finish a bit short, but the start was awesome. Will keep buying this.

From the wine list at McKay's at HK American Club. Fabulous easy-drinking French-owned Wilhamette Valley Pinot. Very welcoming nose. Beautiful palate.... velvety. Thanks, Hans!

Tasted blind. Big floral, expansive red and black cherry, blackberry. Obvious “pinosity” and something unidentifiable that took me to Oregon. Integrated oak. Really nuanced tannins and pretty elevated acidity. High intensity of fruit flavors on the palate.
A well-made new world Pinot. With some air it starts to lose intensity and it may shut down in the near future. Would love to revisit in 5 years as right now still showing really primary.

Pinot Noir From Around the World (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. Spiced start with bright red fruit with mint and anise hints. Nicely rich, while also vibrant and well textured. Good length and weight, with clear upside 2023 forward. My favorite of the tasting.

Chocolate & cherry on the nose. A bit of Camembert & damp earth. Some cedar. The sea isn’t far off. Chocolate on the palate w a molé finish. Sedimentary rock lends itself to spice notes. Bice pairing w the gaminess of duck breast.

Medium plus nose shows black cherry, cola, spice, dark raspberry, fresh cedar. Palate matches with big style for Oregon, layers of fruit, acidity does well, not over the top extracted like some Russian River. Definitely going for that crowd with the style but well done at the same time. Has the structure for aging as well.

translucent ruby/purple; aromatic, black raspberry, cherry cola, orange peel, tea leaves, oak, dried flowers; ripe, concentrated, dark berries, spice, good length; medium body, lively acidity, gentle tannic grip, 14.4% ABV; made from 100% Pinot Noir blended from their best sites, aged 16 months in French oak

smooth entry and then immediately transition to ripe cherry and vanilla. Make no mistake: this is a heavily oaked Pinot Noir. Not my preference, but enjoyable. Nice balance. Oakey, short finish.

Critical AcclaimAll Vintages D94Decanter A generous and poised Pinot Noir with lovely floral aromatics, subtle raspberry and wet earth notes, and finely expressed red fruits. WS93Wine Spectator Precise and sleekly structured, with expressive cherry, savory spice and orange zest aromas that take on flesh and elegant tannins on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2027. RP93Robert Parker's Wine Advocate The 2017 Pinot Noir Evenstad Reserve has a medium ruby-purple color and dark, broody fruits on the nose, laced with classy notes of cardamom, tea leaves and chocolate. The palate is silky, seamlessly fresh and surprisingly layered, suggesting it will improve with some more time in the cellar. Rating: 93+

Same bottle as collector below. This was indeed a very new world style of Pinot, rich and smooth but also very sweet. Also still a touch of oak to be integrated. Rate higher if you like the style but could not be mistaken for Burgundy.

To me this is one of the most overhyped New World Pinots. Nose of chocolate, toffee, vanilla, dark fruit, bakery spices. There is so much oak here that it could be a young St.Emilion, 14.4% Alc. The palate is polished and soft, with acidity kicking in on the finish, also tons of chocolate again. Meh! If you want to know how it should be done in Willamette Valley, have a look at wines from Rose&Arrow.

Excellent Oregon Pinot Noir. Medium body. Mix of both red and blue fruit on the nose with secondary hints of truffle and leather after it has had some time to breath. On the palate, a very nice balance of red fruit- cherry, and pomegranate- and blue fruit- blueberry and plum. Well balanced, medium tannins, and just a hint of oak. Secondary notes, truffle, tobacco, chocolate, and a medium amount of minerality. Medium finish. Could go head-to-head with a Burgundy Pinot Noir.

a bit overshadowed by all the flavors at the traditional xmas eve dinner (turkey cranberry). Would like to try again with a more limited menu.
Otherwise, good pinot color, not overly jammy. Hints of blackberru

Minerality played strongly on this one. Silky and voluptuous on the mid-palette, but bright and playful on the finish. All the Willamette feels.
