Ripe and spicy, bright Pinot character that also seems like it’s been bolstered by a healthy dose of high quality Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Tasty, if unconventional.

Is this getting better or am I just acclimating to it? Doesn’t seem as syrupy as it did on prior tastings. Loads of dark, stewed red fruit seems better balanced with zippy acidity than I remember before. Polished tannins support a nice medium finish. This wine is growing on me.

Not a badly made wine but not my style. I don’t mind that it’s much bigger and fuller bodied than you might expect from a Pinot, but the syrupy cherry cola notes dominate and create a very one dimensional experience. Might pair well with spicy Asian beef or duck with a pepper sauce but it’s sweeter than I generally prefer for savory dishes. Not a great PQR.
Day 2: I don’t usually drink the same wine two days in a row but my wife asked specifically for this again today. Still pretty one dimensional but over a relaxed dinner some nice acidity has come forward and is providing a bit of balance. Maybe it’s the food pairing? Last night with game hens. Tonight with an awesome cassoulet. Might be the sauce and/or the meats made a difference. Whatever the reason, I’m increasing my score to 90.

A very well balanced mid-California pinot noir full of berries and jam. At a very good age where the oak and juices have made peace to create a mouth full of dark fruit and spices. Excellent paring with roast leg of lamb.

As other reviewers have noted, yes, this is a solid step up from Meoimi but it is of the same breeding and ilk. Some enjoyable tertiary ellements but everything is dominated by the syrup. Not really a great wine with food and it seems a little homelesss hovering somewhere between a dinner and desert wine. Will not buy again.

revisiting this after a little over a year. served slightly chilled. more of the same and holding on... big, juicy, round. not much acidity or crispness to report. rather, it errs on the side being more opulent, almost syrupy (for a pinot). lots of fruit. it's a home run for the style, but won't appeal to everyone. i suspect it's still got stuff in the tank for a another year or so but unlikely to improve. drink up before it gets too flabby. 90+

Full bodied pinot with a dark ruby hue and expressive aromas of ripe raspberry, cherry and spice. The palate delivers loads of red fruit; dense raspberry liqueur, strawberry creme and dried cherry along with cola, clove, some mild salinity and a dusting of cocoa powder. Smooth with fine-grained tannins and a medium-long finish. Head-to-head, I’d give this Belle Glos the slight edge over the Las Alturas.

In general alcoholic fruit bombs are not my style and this falls squarely in that category. Jammy, cherry pie filling, some sweet cherry cordial and spice, but the alcohol gives it an astringent, medicinal finish like cough syrup that fades to a cherry cough drop. Alcohol removes any real sense of acidity or tannin so the texture is very smooth thanks to the glycerol and the majority of the structure is thanks to the 14.7% abv. That being said, there are no hollow spots. Was an XMAS gift but not something I am going to seek out (obviously). I doubt this purports to be more than it presents so my B (84) rating is 100% reflective of my tastes in wine and how I evaluate.

Although I enjoyed this Pino Noir very much I can't quite go to the superlatives that my counterparts here have. For a Pinot Noir it is a huge giant fruit bomb big round and polished. Where it as this point is actually TOO MUCH tartness and it is literally overpowering from a Sugar content. It is like drinking Strawberry preserves or jam, just an overwhelming intense sugar kick so much so that they killed what subtle hints of other flavors may have been there. Can't quite get to 90 points on this, I'd prefer they tone it down a bit.

what a fun wine this is. definitely new world pinot through and through. ...there's a real sweetness on the nose here. a rich and weighty consistency, super fruit forward profile. it's smooth and full bodied (note: a well-aged burgundy, it is not). no bitterness, tartness, or minerality. this has the body to hold its own with hearty food. likely intended to be enjoyed young. i paired this with duck confit, scalloped potatoes and roasted garden veggies for canadian thanksgiving. likely not a burgundy purist's first choice, but if you're a cali cab fan, this might be a pinot styled for you.

Slightly chilled and left open for 1.5 hours before serving. Bright, dusty, fruity, and young. 14.5% alcohol came through with a vengeance after about an hour as wine warmed up. Good value wine for the money, but too much alcohol.

Nice and refined after 60 minutes opening. Well integrated brambles and dried cherry, nice smoke, and the alcohol is there but rolls through. May have drunk this a bit young. Still very much enjoyed it. I see prices on this from 35-60 USD, and will say that over 45 USD the QPR is probably iffy.

cannot have enough of this wine - served with a a meatloaf - and the garl;ic and the richness of all the flavors in the meat may have overwhelmed the wine a bit - ended aup enjoying the wine after dinner - need to reassess a pairing with a turkey and beef meatloaf with all the seasoning, herbs, egg and bread crumbs that go into producing this most wonderful , moist comfort food - a syrah maybe; a cabernet fran? defintely not a cabernet sauvignon - or maybe a rich earthy french burgundy....nothing like exploring and mixing and remembering and enjoying the good stuff!!!!!!

Darker Santa Barbara pinot....strawberries and cherries. I wonder how much syrah is added to this each year. Heavily extracted as usual. Similar to prior vintages, maybe a touch better in 2018.

Great Pinot, but it probably should be aged a few years.

We like West Coast Pinot Noir and bought a few bottles of this one based on a friend’s recommendation... the first two left us somewhat indifferent but the third one seemed better... we may give it another try at some point.

Blackberry, brambly fruit, spicy on the nose. Quite rich and dense. Lots of dark fruit, cacao, coffee on the palate. Med acid and fine but present tannins.

cannot have enough of this wine - served with a a meatloaf - and the garl;ic and the richness of all the flavors in the meat may have overwhelmed the wine a bit - ended aup enjoying the wine after dinner - need to reassess a pairing with a turkey and beef meatloaf with all the seasoning, herbs, egg and bread crumbs that go into producing this most wonderful , moist comfort food - a syrah maybe; a cabernet fran? defintely not a cabernet sauvignon - or maybe a rich earthy french burgundy....nothing like exploring and mixing and remembering and enjoying the good stuff!!!!!!

Darker Santa Barbara pinot....strawberries and cherries. I wonder how much syrah is added to this each year. Heavily extracted as usual. Similar to prior vintages, maybe a touch better in 2018.

Wonderful Pinot - had at Copper Cane wine tasting thru CCC (virtual). A delightful chewier Pinot. One of my favorites! The Bella Glos label is named after winemaker Joe’s Grandmother.

this wine was sold at loews in north Carolina at a deep discount - we took the bait and it was..... exquisite!!! what a wonderful surprise - its what all wines should aspire to - beautiful understated lush taste - we all loved it!!!!
served with a lemon sauce shrimp dish it was perfect pairing...if not for the 14.7% alch - I'd give it an even higher rating - still this is as close to perfect as they come - and this is a 2018 - wonder if it can improve????with age????it drinking fabulously well now...!!!!the store assistant mentioned that the wine is related to the owners of Caymus - so we'll check it out....

This wine lacks richness and the tannins are a little rough. I have had the 2017, 2016, 2015 & 2013 Belle glos Clark and telephone Pinot noir and I rated them 90/91 points, but the 2018 vintage was disappointing.
