  • One of a kind Valpolicella Superiore where most Amarones falling behind for its power, concentration & most importantly balance. Blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 5% Croatina & 5% Oseleta which were dried for 25-45 days, aged in new 70% FR and 30% US barrels for 24 months. Intense aroma of kirsch, licorice, leather, chocolate, prunes, herbs, tar. Full body, concentrated but more restrained than their Amarone. Flavours of dried fruit dipped in chocolate, rum then spiced and smoked, high tannins, long finish.

  • Opaque inky bright purple red - would be beautiful paint - distant clean rock dusted raspcherry cacao nose belies the full volume palate of aromas come flavors with a velvety thick viscous mouthfeel and regal microdust tannins.

  • black red color, black pepper, venison and cherry on the rambunctious nose, on the palate a more polished- yet still burly- presentation with wild cherries and large thorned black bramble, drying tannings on the long and racy finish, plum and prune notes with time in glass, a fine outcome here and one that will demand some patience.

  • Big big boy. Dark and brooding.. a beast with core of dark prune fruit. Somehow at the same time an airy quality emerges. Stones on the tongue behind the wall of tannin. A subtle touch of slight of hand before the shut down. Opened in the name of science. Don't bother for a long time.

  • This is a big wine…. Lots of power and strength . The front end reminds me of a full bore ripe cali cult, yet the wine subsides as it caresses the palate. Deep garnet, and luscious — really needs some cellar time to fully evolve.

  • Auzone Italian red tasting (TE) #6:

    Super dense and concentrated Valpolicella. Guessed Quintarelli blind. Quality of course higher than my rating but this is not my kind of wine.

    Massive nose with blackberry, coffe, mocca, dark cherries, mint, ink, plums, dark fruit, violet pastilles, curry fried parsnips.

    Oaky monster on the palate, dark and warm, burnt fruit. 84p
