From 75cl, decanted 90 minutes, served at 10C comme il faut. As previously noted on 05.09.2021, except now there is a wonderful additional honeyed scent. This beautiful bottle had us on the edge of our chairs this evening, paired perfectly with mushrooms in Gruyère cheese sauce (sorry, Comté wasn't available). Radiant, vibrant lemon heaven, like finest Fino sherry made from grapes that actually taste of something, wonderfully concentrated and precise. 92P

From 75cl, perfect cork, decanted 90 minutes, improved until final drop. This excelent, borderline outstanding sous voile Savignin is unchanged from my TN of 14.09.2021. Gorgeous concentrated ripe lemon, thin, lithe, elegant, penetrating. Just not the multi-layered excitement of Macle's equivalent Côtes du Jura (which to be fair, is a Chardonnay/Savignin blend). 90P

Sauer - Ziereisen - Jura - Champagne; 9/9/2020-9/16/2020 (Escherndorf - Efringen-Kirchen - Arbois - Cramant/Bouzy/Verzenay): From an open 75cl bottle at B&S Tissot tasting room, Arbois. Basically a Vin Jaune "light", bottled after only 32 months sous voile. Light-bodied, super clean, lithe entry without any hint of cellar funk or Jura fustiness. Bright, penetrating lemon juice, long, long long... Beautiful wine, lip-smacking right now, but surely good for at least a decade in the cellar. 90-91P

Oxidative style. Meyer lemons, orange peel, walnuts, hazelnuts. Medium + body. High intensity of flavors and aromas. Beautiful long finish. This wine is great and will age a long while yet.

Medium lemon colour. Medium nose with walnuts, oak, leather, cheese, caramelised apples and lemon peel. Medium taste of caramelised apples, baked pears, toasted walnuts, honey, minerals, sea salt and lemon peel. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium body. A very good and oxidised Savagnin that drinks well now and is a fresher alternative to Vin Jaune. Goes well with cheeses or cured meat.
