2019 Matua Sauvignon Blanc Hawke’s Bay (New Zealand) Very subtle generic aroma of citrus with perhaps an apple blossom in bloom one hill over. Lemon and grapefruit flavours are also quite muted with a slight effervescent tongue tickle on entry. Sort of an insipid, unsweetened, uninteresting, almost flat iteration of 7 Up. Lots of acid (must stay positive!) which is strategically subdued by refrigeration (and recommended with a label indicator that morphs into a blue snowflake when adequately chilled). As we all know, snow often hides woe. Perhaps an off bottle, an off year or simply a one-off, but awfully off-putting regardless. Will probably try again to confirm my first impression but there are many better alternatives.

Great example of a New Zealand SB. Pale straw, pineapple and lemon on the nose. Very tropical with pineapple, on the palette. Zippy with a.medium finish. Great price for an everyday sipper in the summertime.

Not as dilute as some 2019s from Marlborough but not as big as the better ones either. Nice lemon and lime character but overall a simple wine. Pleasant but not profound. A little light in body. In this price range, the 2019 Sauvignon Republic is a better choice.

This is a very entry level pedestrian sauv blanc from New Zealand that doesn't need much of a description. It lacks any complexity at all - kind of spirited with some fizz and pretty much unidimensional. I would advise any reader to go out and spend probably some bigger bucks and get a bottle of Cloudy Bay.

Perfectly pleasant and simple Sauvignon Blanc. Perfect for a warm summer night. Very New Zealand. Not special, but nothing wrong with it either. Excellent QPR. We bought another case.

Pleasant dry white wine. Citrus and green olive. Good acidity makes this refreshing. Not as crisp as many New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs. Stone fruit underneath. Decent finish. Excellent wine for the price.

Mouth: Meyer lemon and mango notes come in with just a light cream note, ahead of a finish of lime zest, lemongrass and verbena.
Overall: Soft and light, with harmonious coterie of flavors, accented by good freshness. Sometimes feels a bit more like Napa Sauvignon than New Zealand, which makes this a value proposition for fans of the style. 100% Sauvignon blanc. Drink now.

Tasted for work. Passionfruit sulphur on the nose. Pretty. Palate is muddled, touch of bitterness and astringency on the hot finish. Not very good at all.

The wine has medium acidity. It smells like honeydew and cut green grass. The body is light. The wine finishes short. It tastes like honeydew and pear. The wine looks blonde colored. There is light sediment in the bottle. The wine has juicy texture.

Pale straw. Grass bouquet, fresh cut grass? Fresh palate also, white fruits, not as tropical or juicy as other New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs. Crisp. Day 2 less grass, more fruit. Even a little guava at the bottom of the glass, nice.

Very pale straw in color. Slight bubbles. Grapefruit, white peach, and melon on the nose. High acidity with matching flavors from the nose. Short finish.

Racy acidity and fresh notes of pea pods/cut grass make this an easy winner in the sea of overly herbaceous NZ Sauvignon Blancs; delicious and great value for its price point

Overdreven sauvignon-fruktighet med voldsom hyll og nesten kiwi. Fruktsødme i intro/midtparti, grei syre derfra og inn. Sauvignon blanc-porno

Not the wine it was a few years ago. Somewhat bland and metallic tasting. Not very memorable and very simple.
