Nose and palate both provide a fruit forward cassis, blackberry, dried plum, hint of coffee and distinct old world tinged forest leaves. Mainly new world style, but harkens back through the tannins and forest undertones to an old world origin. Makes sense given the lineage. This will benefit greatly from some aging, but maybe not too many years as tannins are already soft and rounded.

Kind of a soil blackberry nose. Dark fruit taste, medium acidity. Alcohol is well hidden behind the fruit. A peppery finish. A little green maybe some decanting would help with that. Not complex would pair well with steak. Overall a good effort. Price is a big plus.
Day 2 wine is quite a bit more silky and more bold. Still quite good.

Dense cab, delicious plum, black cherry, a little leather flavors, balanced by earthy velvet tannins. Medium acidity. Round in the mouth, and long finish, not heavy nor big, just good paired with cheese snack or a steak.

The primary flavors compete making the wine confused and brimming with energy. On the second day it settled down and became much more refined and enjoyable. Cassis, plum, ripe blackberry and a touch of menthol and herb fill the nose. Palate is consistent with the nose. Tannins are ripe and refined and acidity is well balanced. I would say 5-10 years of bottle age will help it.

This is better than my last bottle, I attribute that to bottle shock, probably tried the other one too close to shipping date. Grapey but good, this is unique but interesting. Solid new world style with old world influences. I’ll be interested to see how this evolves over the next few years..

Strong hints of bell pepper, tobacco and oak. Not overly complex or deep but it is initially flavorful without a lingering finish.

Dark ruby colour. Nose of black cherry and rosemary. Inky, bold and chewy with a long dark fruit finish.

It tastes like blackberry, black currant (cassis), prune, forest floor, coffee and stems.
