Consistent w prior notes. Old pruney date-like flavors. In a small southern US market virtually devoid of interesting wine I make purchases all too often on scores and descriptions from wine publications. Woefully missed mark on this one. 18 bottles - all piss poor from the outset - more of this wine has gone down the drain than the gullet - can’t hardly finish a glass much less a bottle. Dreadful stuff - dispiriting really - undercuts trust in the whole wine business model - poor product and reviews. Wine is a subjective experience for certain but I would wager a fortune this wine would be a uniform loser amongst any tempranillo based tasting even the big bulk ones.

Needed to breath as it was much better after an hour. Initially slightly smoky but after breathing it was tart plum with some acidity. Tartness lingers. Overall enjoyed. Not my most favorite but enjoyable.

Not sure how to describe this, as there is definitely something out of whack. Not unpleasant (on the first night), but nothing I'd rush back for either. Two nights later it fell apart completely and was undrinkable.

Based on IWC's favorable rating and a good price I went long on this one sight unseen. Darkly pig'd, clean muted nose; tart-tart blackberry and under-ripe plum flavors w/ ? substantial tannins (or was I all puckered up w/ acid). I hope this will tame a bit in time and hit its stride. 84 pts b/c I'm trying to abide by the CT scale; in time I hope this wine will mellow some and stretch the ample fruit over the bed of currently rough tannins and move into the "very good" range (85-89).

Spanish Wines (Farpointe Cellar): A really earthy nose of stone, cedar, and smoke. After that is some floral notes before the blackberry fruit makes an appearance. The palate is much the same as the nose - earthy, floral, then fruity. I like it.

This is going to be a Rioja year. After almost five years...Benjamín, what the hell are you doing here? No doubts, a hottie bottle (14,5%) so better thing if served at cellar temperature. Dark fruit and liquorice on the nose. Oaky palate. This Preacher is ready to evangelize the Big West.

This was a very smooth and enjoyable wine. Great balance and drank well during the course of the night. Consuming this wine was accompanied by a couple of different strong cheeses and they were very complimentary of each other. In the end, not a knock-your-socks-off wine, but I may buy one or two more for future long-term cellaring.

Decanted and left to breathe. Very smooth wine with lots of tasts.

Continues to be a rather shrill wine; an interesting but kinda weird yeasty toasty date character has taken shape in past couple of bottles.

dense ruby; cranberry and tart plums on the nose and palate; mouth-puckering acidity

Too expensive for what was offered. Know better and cheaper Riojas.

Goed, donker. Milde dronk, zachte tanines. Klein zuurtje. Zal beter worden komende 2 jaar.
