Drinking really well now. Great balance of tannins starting to mellow, dark fruit, some oak that isn’t overpowering. Sure it will continue to be great.

I have a couple more bottles so this was For Science. Pretty unforgiving at pop n pour. Very dark, tannic and very noticeable wood. Impressive - in the sense that it is seamless, dense, and the oak is not excessive - but not a lot of pleasure right now. I am not sure this will really be radically transformed by aging but it would at least be less sullen. Not sure if the style is for me but this is not overextracted crap - it’s a genuine wine. If you insist on opening this now I would give it a long decant. Better to just forget these for about a decade. Score : 89+. Relative to expectations: 0 for now.

Medium (+) Acidity Medium (+) Tannin High Alcohol Full Bodied Long Finish
Medium (+) Intensity - Cassis, Blackberry, Black Plum, Blueberry, Black Pepper, Smoke, Tobacco, Cloves, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Cedar
Black fruits and spices, intense palate but not quite pronounced on the nose, tannins are still grippy but well integrated, a good wine with complexity but not really remarkable, might be too young to drink though, should hold on for a few more years.

Decanted 4 hours by HMC prior to tonight's blind event. Deep opaque garnet in the glass to start with a nose of light sage and green herbs. I did not guess it was an Aussie Shiraz but toward the end of the night this became more evident to me. The color also shifted in the glass and set itself apart from the others as it moved from garnet to more of an odd grayish brown which I don't think I've ever seen a wine do. What was special early on to me about this wine was how it flowed from front to back. It was 'full' and rather seamless from start to finish with everything matched up on the same level. Very balanced. 91 to start, finished at 92 for me.

Was expecting a more over the top kind of wine. Found this to be well balanced although still fairly extracted bottle. Dusty plum, black tea, and blackberries.

Tasted at Tim Syrad Wines Christmas Masterclass, Surrey, UK. 100% shiraz. Sherbet colour. Spicy nose. Very approachable now, but yung and tannic, so really needs another 10 years to fully mature. Full bodied. Went well with the beef. Good.

Intense nose packed with black fruits and black pepper tones. Palate is intense with black olives, graphite, black pepper and very same black fruits as the nose. The wine is so powerful in all aspects, but it is quite well balanced even though alcohol and palate is rather extreme. Drinks well now.

Fruit-driven: Black berries, cherries and a light touch of vanilla and leather.
Long taste

Oh it’s Shiraz, no doubt, but moderately dense for the style, and such an elegant brute. This bad girl is drinking well after a couple hours decant.

Opened but not decanted for about 60 minutes before pouring. Not overly jammy, but definitely a new world Shiraz. Everyone in the group enjoyed it.
