Decanted for an hour, poured and let sit in the glass for another 1/2 hour. The bit of initial roughness smoothed out. Elegant Zinfandel, with a bit of sweetness and a long complex finish. Wonderful accompaniment to a dinner three different types of pizza; white, red and vodka sauce.

This opaque crimson wine is a 100% Zinfandel blend from multiple Estate Russian River vineyards, including Jackass. Splash-decanted and consumed over 2-3 hours, it is immediately expressive of black raspberries, dark plums, blue flowers, toasted oak and exotic spices. As long as this is served at 60-65°F, the wine's lofty 16.1% alcohol remains in check. Full-bodied, freshly acidic and with medium sweet tannins, it stays solid on the middle palate and finishes long. This is the definition of "synergy," where the final blended product is greater than the sum of its parts. It should be at its best over the next five years. Drink now-2026.

Consumed over two nights. Better on night 2. On the lean side, its one of the most elegant and complex Zinfandels available. I find it a better wine than the more expensive Martinelli offerings. Of course, I dont have the bucks for the Jackass offering. Very, very food friendly.

Damn! This is some mondo juice! More elegant and less body than other Martinelli offerings, but possibly the most elegant and food friendly, prestigious high end Zin on the market.

Hour decant. Very well made. Nice fruit. Should only improve. Drink or hold until 2024+.

Tastes more of blueberry with some strawberry, more elegant than most Zins. A touch of oak and soft tannins
