This is really good stuff but it still would benefit from more time. Notes of blackberry and blueberry and tobacco with dense, chewy tannins. It is starting to integrate well and is a pleasure to drink but it should improve over the next couple years.
75% Cabernet, 15% Cab Franc, 9% Petit Verdot, 1% Merlot 60% new French oak 71% Rutherford, 25% Howell Mountain, 4% Calistoga 15% Alc.

Time is on your side...Deep ruby, black and blue fruits and tobacco on the nose. On the palate high acidity high tannins, blueberries, blackberries, full body, pronounced intensity, long finish. This is very good, and as someone below said, it's powerful and exciting now but the tannins are still up front, not very integrated and I think will benefit from a lot more time. Giving it a 91 with minimal decant but I think with some more air that number will drift up.

In a great spot right now; Delicious upon first opening; Mellowed a bit over the course of the evening; Came back to this on day 3 and it was dead; I don't think that age is going to help these - it really needs the initial freshness to liven it up

Big chewy strawberry with strong tannins when first opened; Evolved to a plush semi-ripe phase and eventually settled into a medium/full bodied reasonably balanced solid showing; Pulled together pretty nicely after about 4 hours; Don't skip the first taste though - that was definitely the most exciting

With hangar steak, smashed potatoes, charred brocolli.
After 6 hour decant. Needed that. Sip after 3 hours was quite tonicky
Very nice! Huge middle and ending. Dense mouthfeel but with sufficient fruit - not chocolate
First of case. Will go into "drink with good food over next few years" pile

Iron and black cherry are most prominent. Wall of tannins. Heat on the backend. Monolithic flavors lacking much complexity.
Day 3. Whoa. Massive difference. Much more typical Left Bank Bordeaux style flavor notes. Leather, dark fruits, forest floor.
This wine needs lots of time or lots of air.
