Decanted and got right into it. Dark red fruit w faint broken branch on the nose. Extremely dry and dusty approach for a CF. Suspect this still has lots of life ahead of it.

Pride has always made an easy going, smooth cab franc, for the money. There is a decent amount of Cabernet Sauvignon that is added. Lovely bouquet of blueberries and spring flowers. Smooth palate of blueberries, plums and black raspberries. Not very complex, and falls off on the finish.

Pleasant aroma of wood kindling and menthol. Tongue is greeted with plum, pepper. Gives way to finely-grained tannins. Finish is short-lived. Overall, a medium-bodied, pleasant, drinkable cab franc.

Coravan’d a sizable glass. An hour later this crosses the palate with light red fruit on a thin/watery yet very dry tannic backbone. Strikes me as more of a Pinot than cab franc today. Will pop the balance of the bottle later this week for comparison.
Day two: pulled the cork and hooked up to the nitrogen canister. After 10 minutes in the glass i’m getting Bayleaf and eucalyptus on the nose. Traditional CF green notes on the palate which I wasn’t picking up last night, however the wine is as shallow as I recall.
Based on others notes im wondering if this is an off bottle? Purchased directly at the winery however I can’t recall its flavors (or much of our visit) that day as they took we’re enjoying our Covid-visit group as much as we enjoyed their over-the-top hospitality that day last August

Medium to deep ruby. There’s a beautiful perfume to this wine that gives it away on the nose, with cherry and blackberry as well. Opened in November at an outdoor, physically distant Friendsgiving and then again on our back porch. Not much time elapsed between the two, but then again we have a few more in the cellar. Even side by side with some heavy hitters this easily held its own. On the palate, nicely balanced dark fruit with fairly aggressive tannin, which is to be expected for something this young. Absolutely fantastic.

This wind found its honest self on day #2. It’s not particularly giving on the nose, but clearly a darkly profiled new world complexion. On the palate, you have some blue fruited things backed by a little herbaceous streak (?bay leaf) and dark baking cocoa. Some creamy, lactic notes are there as well. Plenty of structure and nice acidity to make me think this will improve for a good 8-10 years. Not unlike a modern Pomerol, truthfully, and I would love to blind it with a 15 Clinet for example. To be sure, this has more candied fruit than that wine, but it’s also more tannic than a lot of the cabs coming out of the valley today which are intended to be ready to drink.
Consumed with Christmas dinner. Dark fruit, graphite/wood shaving, medium acidity, light tannin, very aromatic. Very new world, no herbaceous-ness I get in loire can franc. Drink or hold.

Awesome weight, density, concentration and blue fruited profile with some graphite. Although the merlot was green from barrel, there’s nothing old world about this cab franc.
