This wine is a textbook example of what a Williams Selyem Pinot is about. The alcohol is 13.5% which means it's not an overripe vintage. The flavors are varietal and the body is full. The acidity is perfect and the finish is long. There's nothing that's exceptional, but this is a very good and well made wine.

A lot darker in color a d deeper than most Williams Selyem wines I have had. Definitely can benefit from more aging, as this wine only befan to show after 2+ hours in a decanter and another 1/2 hour in the glass.

Opened as a PnP, but it needed some time before consumption. Glass towards the back end of a meal was better than the first glass, but at the moment, is probably my least favorite WS wine that I’ve tried. Will wait at least another 9-12 months to try another 2018 as it appears to still have plenty of life left. Seemed heavier than other WS wines and the fruit was dark, dark, dark…….did I say dark? In reading, appears that the 2019 might be a better drinking wine right now……..but I’m a little gun shy to try another Estate for a while.

Amerikansk nese med intens sødme. Pinotkrydder, mørkerød frukt med granateple og tranebær. Tørket fiken. Noe bakt i sødmen. Noe nøtteaktig, nesten marsipan. Frisk.
Veldig flott fylde, medium ++. Saftig syre. Slankere enn nesen. God fast struktur med lange tanniner. Deilig frukt som speiler nesen og med bringebær. Lang.

The least of WS 2018 offerings I have tasted. Flat and lacking in all ways.
