  • Quite nice, with notes of ripe peach, Mandarin orange, and cut flowers commingling throughout. There's a roundness here buoyed by medium acidity, and hints of minerality poke through as it warms.

  • This wine's balance was spot-on. Sweetness balanced by acidity and very characteristic Gewurz. spicy aroma. I'm usually pretty good at pegging wines with relatively high alcohol, but I missed this one by a good bit--guessed 12% and it was 14.5%! The flavors provided good, strong bones for that alcohol to hang onto. Paired perfectly with an Alsatian-styled onion tart and, believe it or not, sauteed garlic spinach. Many years ahead for this one, and I look forward to seeing how my remaining bottles develop.
