Subtle vanilla, that opened up later into the dinner, and grapefruit. A medium weight body more on the zesty, rather than buttery side. Citrus on the finish, a nice food wine, but not buttery enough for scallops…

This an excellent Chardonnay, subdued but stellar in all aspects. Stone fruit shows on the nose. Cream and mild butter on the palate followed by balanced acid and a smooth finish.

Retail $45. Responsible bottle. Under cork. I had a great online event with the folks of Rhys but I still have not procured the video of the Zoom. I didn't take notes (since I thought I would have access to the video), but the folks at Rhys know what they are doing. With a focus on the planet, they produce fantastic wines. Case in point. Light to quite light in color in the glass with yellow delicious apple, a hint of vanilla, and just a soupçon (thank you Miles) of oak. On the palate, the oak is difficult, if not impossible to perceive. Instead, there is plenty of fruit (tart green apple), a captivating zinginess, and a lingering finish. A solid Chard, but not "typical" by any means. Fantastic.
Fantastic mid-palate of bright focused fruit with a long finish. Crisp citric and mild mineral flavors make a very easy-to-drink wine. Definitely in it's sweet spot.

Seems consistent with others, light on its feet with some stone fruit coming through. Thankfully no tropical profile. I’ve been making note to drink these earlier and I feel this is in prime drinking window right now. No hurry but singing right now.

I think SPSMatthews' note from last week says it quite well... "Nice crisp apple & citrus, with a fresh mineral-driven taste. Kiss of oak but very nicely balanced. Easy drinking."

Nice chard once again. Nice mineral backbone. Citrus and orchard fruit. Used a splash in a sauce with some chicken and it disappeared from a 375 in a flash.

nice drink, was beaten on this night by the PY Colin-Morey Chass. Montr. VV '18, this wine has repeatedly baffled me with the fruit... its not citrus but can't ID it... nice enough, and full enough, with nice structure to balance, but can't place the fruit flavor... is oak hiding it at this young age???

very nice for Alesia, better on night two... no detailed notes and drank a few nights ago while on the road running away from a Covid outbreak in my household... memories of 2020 are going to be hard to discard

nice wine with a good (not great) QPR... tho this had some hints of CA chardonnay typicity -- ie the oak was present, and it had a slight touch of what tasted like residual sugar, along with the richness that these two elements can drive, the wine had nice acidity / drive... enjoyable chard for a summer evening

From 750ml bottle. Much the same as recent bottle. Orchard fruit dominant, bright acidity, creamy texture, minerals, lime zest and a very pleasant finish. Nice easy drinking but still sophisticated and interesting.

From 375ml bottle...bright medium yellow, nose and palate are lightly creamy with varied citrus notes and a melange of orchard fruit. In the aftertaste there is some almond along with layers of various citrus ranging from lemon to tangerine and mandarin. Long finish and nice texture. Easy drinking and enjoyable but bright with acidity.

I prefer this to the Santa Cruz in this instance. Floral and bright with fruit herbs and minerals on the palate. Long clean finish. Consistently good.

Last 375ml bottle and just as good as the others! Clean, crisp, minerally, with stone fruit, apple, citrus and nice depth and complexity.
