Showing signs of maturity but still has gobs of fruit and a nice long finish. Like so many great South African wines, this is halfway between CA fruit forwardness and old world earthiness. Delicious.

The wine looks onion-skin colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like toast, coffee, hay/straw, raisin and black currant (cassis). The body is medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity.

Gifted to Hoppe/Sarre's at their home for a BBQ. Russell opened later in the evening. Distinct South African terroir but the blend of merlot, cab franc and cab sauvignon came through with lots of fruit and good structure.

Deep ruby color with garnet sparkle. Earthy, Vanilla and cassis on the nose. Unbelievably smooth on the palate, full bodied, with a nice taste of dark cherry.

Deep garnet color; smoke, leather and cassis on the nose. Rich and velvety in the mouth, still young tannins but well-integrated. Perhaps doesn't have the longest life ahead of it, but drinking lovely right now. Big smoky flavor at the outset, mellowing after an hour+ to a rich, austere Bordeaux-style wine with enough fruit to give good pleasure. 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot. One of the better South African Bordeaux-style blends.

This is an unbelievable wine from South Africa. I tasted it in London and absolutely fell in love with it. Full bodied and complex. A serious wine that is ready to drink now. I have been trying for months to get it in the US. I hope to buy this in bulk when it is available.
