Wow, this one really lit us up... big and brawny but smooth as a baby's bottom. Huge Syrah flavors that reminded us of Grenache. Never tasted a Syrah this smooth and no bite at all. Bravo!

Selected for our New Year’s Eve wine from our cellar. Does more need to be said? Lush, rich, elegant and singing in six part harmony after just an hour in decanter. Alban produces some of the very best Rhône varietals in the US. Impeccable balance, perfect tannins and great finish. Just now into its drinking window, this should go for another 15 years.

This Alban is so tasty, the fruit is so decadent Christmas fruitcake and delicious spices, but while a purple tooth monster, quite perfectly balanced and not a complete palate wrecker. It’s so good and tasty with dark fruits , cassis, not a ton of pepper, but while the Syrah characteristics are there , I could see myself guessing a really high end new world cab or Bordeaux blend. The Syrah is there but this is a serious and seriously good wine. Drink now or for another decade. 94-96+

Really better on second night. Maybe a 6 hour decant to start. Mid savory fruit body. Medium long finish

Nice full bodied syrah with good fruit and nice spice on the finish. Paired perfectly with a beef tenderloin (but really what wouldn't)

Sam impressions of my last bottle, very good but doesn’t stand up to previous vintages, also a tad green.

Cherry, strawberry, pomegranite, anise seed, vanilla, dried roses, some stems and mild greeness due to the vintage. Still an excellent wine!
