Medium garnet color. Decent nose. Lots of dark, stewed fruits in nose and on palate. Everything smoothed out from possible complexity and spice to now being rather blah, not offensive or bad, just not interesting. I think this would've been much better 3 years ago, likely 88-90. Shame on me.

PnP. Medium body and color. Nose of cherries & black berries with vanilla & leather. Palate of cherries, raspberries and tobacco with a mildly spicy finish. A nice, easy-drinking wine.

This wine possesses a slightly faded blood red core with a bricky hue around the rim. On the nose initial tones of leather and burnt earth make way for robust plumb and baked cherry type aromas underpinned by a hint of something mint-esque. On the palate coffee and mocha, are met by blackberry jam and pepper. Acids are still lively and the alcohol is noticeable but perhaps overshadowed by sheer flavour. Soft slightly grainy tannins play along the gums as the experience concludes with a wonderful enveloping finish that slowly moves across the palate and continues to delight for 20-30 seconds after the fact.
Great wine. It makes it all the more unfortunate to see Cosentino Winery no longer in operation. In addition to this Zinfandel Mitch is responsible for some exceptional Merlot that is definitely worth trying if you ever encounter it.
Kudos to Mitch for this great effort.

This was not the traditional Zin that we expected. Very light with lots of red fruit to go with the tobacco and pepper of the zin. Almost a cross between a Pinot and a Zin. Really enjoyed it, however. Nice pairing with some spicy cajun food.

Garnet red color. Cherry, brambly berries, vanilla, some pepper, and a bit of licorice on the nose. Medium body with soft, ripe tannins and good acidity. Decent length on the finish. OK, a lot of people absolutely love this wine, but I'm not one of them. I love a nice zin, but this is almost a pinot with darker fruit and some pepper.

classic bramble bush sweet berry palatte and nose. very creamy mouth feel - tannins are gone. slight hint of tackle box or harbor breeze (sorry - trying to paint a picture that equals "a tad fishy?"...) but this was an added dimension not a flaw. Nice Zin, on the light-medium side. for $18 for something like that, a very nice value. would buy again.

Ligter couloured zin, flashes of auburn. A nose I find in old vines Amador or Serra Foothills red. (Research shows it's Lodi fruit) Subtle and sweet plum, and raisins. I quite enjoy the luchness and the flavour spectrum. This wine is ready today.

Popped and tasted great amounts of red fruit, spice, followed by smoke. After it sat for 45 minutes, became thick and syrup-like. never had this happen before. If it would not have turned, probably an 88.

Nose reminds me of a TBA Zweigelt from Austria I once tried. Even reminds a little of Caparone in style or even some of the Texas Hill country wines I have tried. Far from a thick fruit monster. Hint of sweetness, like dried red fruit. Good structure.

If you like sweet syrupy Zins, this is for you. For me, it was too big and fruity; not that there is anything wrong with that. Sadly, it was not nearly as spicy as the wonderful nose suggested it would be.

Not to our liking. A pretty sienna color (some brown tinge on the edge) with a barnyard aroma. Light cherry taste with a medium short finish. Soft and drinkable, but off the mark for our preferences in a Zin.

Another nice vintage for cigarzin, full bodied, crisp with good jaminess and solid fruit flavors, red sweeter fruit on the front balanced with creamy cocoa in the midpalate, finish has good legs with some spice. low 90s. -S

Sweet smoke and fruit are almost overpowering on the nose. The fruit explodes in your mouth, and the finish is so tight it kicks you in the back of the throat. Good both "fresh" and run through the aerator, certainly the flavors mixed a little better and the finish smoothed somewhat with aeration.

Classic CA Zin, with briary dusty berry on the attack, and fresh red raspberry and strawberry on the finish. Modest tannins and alcohol content -- good value.

Nose: Strawberry, Tobacco, Leather
Taste: Initial sweet cherry flavor followed by a smooth fruity mid-palate with a spicy balanced finished.
A lighter Zin then the usual jam bombs.
