  • This wine blew me away. I had served a 1962 Montrachet from Thenard to friends 7 years earlier and it was excellent. However 1961 was not known to be a great White Burgundy vintage and with 7 more years of bottle age I was not expecting much from this wine. But this one had great acidity, great mineral tones, a hint of nuttiness, and some lemon. Still quite concentrated and just as good as the 62 if not even better. A great surprise and an exciting wine. A wine from Dad's cellar and my birthyear as well. -- Thanks Dad!
