Ripe and decadently spiced, with concentrated kirsch, dark plum and cola flavors that are well-knit. The plush, creamy finish packs Asian spice notes. Drink now through 2025. Score - 91.

Overextracted and with more residual sugars than many would enjoy, though still a crowd pleaser for very casual events. I would not say it isn't enjoyable on some level, and this may be exactly what they were going for, but it is not for me.
I had two small glasses, one on night 1 and one on night 2. Drunk over 3 nights. Vvv

A 'go to' Pino Noir. Dark cherry and plum on the nose. This is a big weighty PN. I love the tannins, very well balanced. I'm a Belle Glos fan, love this vineyard and also love their Clark & Telephone vineyard.

A nose of dark cherry and spices, dark garnet in color. A full bodied single vineyard PN, with black cherry, blueberry, cola, with long finish of spices. Not your petite Pinot, delicious, in a great drinking zone. www.winelx.com

What an odd wine. Very dark, black cherry and not much backbone. Based of previous comments not as sweet as expected. That said, a pretty poor example of a Pinot. Also, the bottle was terrible. The wax was so dried out, I couldnt pull the tab to open it. Had to take a knife to it. Not worth the aggravation. Thankfully it was a gift so I didnt waste my money; only my time.

Pours deep purple. Highly concentrated. Nose has dark fruit, oak, and some earth and spice notes. Palate is the same, a bit over-sweet. Medium + body, medium acidity, medium tannin. This is not bad, but it's noticeably doctored. If you're looking for a good expression of the grape or terroir, this isn't it. That said, it's well made.

Last of the Belle Glos Pinots. Love their “Makers Mark” similarities with their waxing. The wine was delicious. Great dark coloring, fruit forward with hints of cherries strawberries and a nice finish.

Pop and pour to pair with a delicious Italian white sauce pizza. I have enjoyed the 2018 vintage and this was quite comparable.
On the nose, stewed dark fruit, vanilla and oak. Initial sips were identical to the nose with pronounced dark fruit, blackberry and plum. Vanilla, oak and some smoke rounded out the flavors. This is not overly layered but the flavors are well balanced and juicy. Nice finish.
Med+ bodied, well balanced acidity and tannins and a little on the sweeter side. Very smooth and enjoyable.

Dark fruits, good acidity, a bit of rough tannins. Doesn’t taste like a typical pilot. Maybe some Syrah in it? Not ready to drink yet, and doesn’t seem promising. Still a bit rough on the second day, without increase in flavors.

Hard to rate/not impressed. I'm not a pinot drinker but this isn't really pinot. IMO its too early to drink, even several hours after opening. I have had 8+ year old Belle Glos that was more my style so will avoid the "drink early" advice on these going forward.

Complex, big and layered Pinot with abundant fruit of black cherry, plum, also lavender, violets on the palate. Fine and lucious tannins with perfectly balanced acidity.

This is a very dark Pinot. The nose is great - heavy fruit (cherry or something idk), some oak, maybe tobacco. The palate on this wine is slightly sweet, concentrated fruit, and light-medium body. The finish is very quick. I would say the wine is a good wine and is very interesting for a Pinot compared to most. However, is lacks the acidity you want from a Pinot noir and is quite pricey. In the glass blind it’s a good wine again - but missed the variatials niche aspects and priced too high. It drinks in the “good” wines you drink on a Tuesday night with whatever’s for dinner.
Certainly not your typical Pinot. Flavour profile more in the wheelhouse of a typical sweet Calif Cab. Adjusted for price, would likely have rated lower due to the lack of finish.

Purple colour with pink rims. Black berry, black cherry, cocoa, smoke, and rubber on the nose. Fleshy and fat palate with ripe, spiced flavours and a hot finish. I could almost recommend it if it were a $15 Garnacha from Calatayud, Spain, but as a premium priced Pinot...it's a no. 3/5

heavy New World pinot that hits the palate with a wave of sweetness that hurts my teeth... one of the reviews below suggested this wine is 'industrial' and that's an apt description as it lacks any semblance of nuance, depth, subtlety or sophistication. It's a wine to serve to people who want to drink $ wine but don't 'like' or understand wine. In a blind test this could *easily* be mistaken for a cheap Calif cabernet it has that much weight and sweetness. Loads of black fruit on the initial attack with a a touch of leather and tobacco bringing up the rear in tandem with violets, menthol and plum. Fruit, Fruit, Fruit... Grape jam anyone? Finishes medium with a medium/heavy lean in the glass. I let this sit out about 40-45 mins and didn't notice any meaningful changes.
This was given to me as a gift and I opened it more or less out of curiosity as I probably would never buy this in the store (I lean more towards Antica Terra, Ken Wright single vineyard, Barolo or Burgundy)
drink or hold: drink or give away as gift
value: way over-priced
would I buy again: no
I cannot understand how WE gives this a '96'.... just a disaster

Dark ruby color color very dark for a Pinot. Oak, black cherry, and plum on the nose. Cherry, vanilla, and oak on the palate. My favorite out of the three Belle Glos widely available Pinots.

Definitely recommend with the understanding that right now this is still a very young wine with significant room for softening and improvement over the next 10-12 years in my opinion - see eventual potential for 92 points+. Drink with a longish decant right now vs hold for at least 3-5 additional years and heavily leaning on the hold. With proper cellaring this has an easy decade++ to go. Given the cooler coastal CA higher altitude terroir nature of this wine at this point this is really the only Belle Glos that we look at any more - overall just a bit softer more complex pinot vs the other much more CA pinot style almost cabernet like Belle Glos pinot bottlings. Very deep purple (smoke on the water anyone ??) almost inky black, a bit disjointed at this point, no bricking, very fruit forward at this point with a lengthy tasty aftertaste. Nose dark and focused with dark stone fruit, licorice and pepper. Flavor profile at this point intense and fruit forward with plum, dark cherry, anise, black tea and a hint of smoke on the finish (see above intended pun...).

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry, blackberry and cedar. It tastes like blackberry, raspberry, cinnamon, chocolate and nutmeg. The body is medium/full. The wine has satin-like texture and refined tannins. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

This Belle Glos is a great representation of the Santa Lucia Highlands. It is medium bodied with dense color. The nose has pomegranate and cedar accompanied by a sea-like salty brine fragrance. Tastes of cherry, blackberry, and pepper. The initial tartness on the palate smooths out to a light, fine silky tannin structure. The finish is smooth and lingers between sips. This wine is very well rounded and benefited a lot from 1 hour in the decanter. One more year in the cellar would be best. Keep Guzzlin’.

Purchased for $45. Opened, but not decanted for 90mins. Dark crimson in color with a purple hue at the rim. On the nose, lots going on here with juicy red fruits: cherry and pomegranate. I pick up hints of pine and citrus rind, almost eucalyptus, which is really interesting. On the palate, the dark fruits really shine, all baked by hints of cocoa nibs, bittersweet chocolate and a hint of game. Really nice acidity and strong tannins. This could age a few years. Grade: A
