Found in the back of the cellar. Concerned it would be over the hill. Concerns were unfounded. Lovely nose of wild strawberry, earth, and a big dose of anise. Red berries with a surprisingly long finish of black pepper. Still mouth-coating and drying. Yes, it's on the downslope but still highly pleasurable. Drink now.

- Aromas of black pepper and blackberry and has flavours of mushroom with a medium/full body - 7 years aging was just fine for this above-average Rhone Villages wine, but definitely time to drink up.

Great wine for the price point ($15). After opening, you're hit with strong scents of bell pepper and rubber (tire inner-tube). After 15-20 minutes, I could smell faint rose water scent. Taste was very one dimensional, but satisfying. Nice balance of fruit and spiciness with good acidity; a good sipping wine. This wine is drinking nicely right now - no need to cellar any longer.

Excellent wine, especially in light of the price. Good deep color, nice nose, classic peppery finish. Good fruit and tannins lead me believe this will last several years in the cellar. Will buy more.

nose: nice subtle nose of leather, cracked pepper, earth, spice, and black berries. Really deep nose that is just quintessentially southern rhone
taste: really nice feel with garrigue, leather, cracked pepper, and a bit of black berries
overall: an excellent wine that has a classic southern rhone profile. Really good weight on the palate, but is a bit hollow on the mid palate and the finish dies a bit. Still, this is excellent stuff that is a lot of fun to drink

Solid everyday wine. Savory with notes of roasted meats, leather, earth and spicy fruit. Good structure and a pleasant finish. Should drink well for several years. No drop off on day two.

I was a bit disappointed just because I like their CdP so much, but at $15 bucks perhaps I was a bit unrealistic. Was a bit simple.

Least popular wine of the evening. The American style wines were a bigger hit.

Enjoyable wine. French style...more austere than the happy, forward CA reds we mostly drink. Would buy again. No off flavors. Savory.
