new and aged Rhones: ruby colour and medium body. fresh nose of raspberries, strawberries, minty herbs and black olives. red berry flavours mark the entry, but are quickly absorbed in the strong acidic and tannic core that dominates the mid palate. a mineral vein leads into a long finish where the fruit flavours re-emerge.
fresh and complex, this wine needs time to integrate.
14.5% AbV; 65% Grenache/ 15% Mourvèdre/ 15% Syrah/ 5% Clairette and other permitted CdP varietals; fermented in a mix of stainless and wooden tanks; aged for ten months in concrete tank and then twelve months in oak foudres.

Palate showed fresh and ripe cranberries, gentle sweet blueberries, clean and fresh minerality that gives it a nice push. Autumn leaves, wet forest floor and even floral herbs that linger into the finish.
Awesome wine for what you're paying for. A pleasure now and should be interesting with more age as well. Punches well above its price tag.

Premium Rhône Tasting (K&L Wines, San Francisco): Clear light ruby center. Sweet raspberry and toffee aromatics. Medium weight. Bright, perfectly ripe red fruit and herbs on the entry, very supple mid-palate, and then strong acidity, licorice, tobacco, and tannin kick in leading to a serious, dry finish. Chewy for its weight. It currently shows more Mourvèdre than the 15% in the cepage. I think this is outstanding, but it needs a good deal of time to integrate the front and back ends, which are almost like 2 different wines right now.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a famous Rhone Valley appellation covering wines made from predominantly Grenache, complemented by some Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault. Funny that I read about the '19 vintage being one of the exceptional vintages of the Rhone, but the Telegraphe didn't even remotely display it. Ripe, jammy, big style not giving any way to freshness and vibrancy. An attack on the senses.

On the nose the wine was balanced between red fruit and herbs with some damp earth in background. On the palate the wine was not sweet and had subtle tannins, but still managed to be big and bold. (I tend to prefer fruitier CDP's but this was still excellent).

Aromas of red fruits (strawberries, red currants), fig, balsamic vinegar, orange peel, herbs de provence, and a hint of lavender. The palate is round and generous though still quite fresh, a surprise due to the year, with soft tannins. This is absolutely gorgeous! Vines are between 20-60 years old, and the domaine practices organic farming. The blend consists of 65% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah, 5% (Cinsault, Clairette, et al). The wine is rests for 10 months in vats and then it is aged for 12 months in foudres.

Popped & decanted, stupendous nose that kept evolving, full on cherries, last sip had a delicious funk nose, so drinkable at this age, beautiful soft tannins, one the best VT’s I’ve drunk, can only get better with age 95+

Still very young but paired well with Thanksgiving dinner. Lighter body CdP with a medium finish. Black and red fruit with some earth/wet gravel undertones. Excellent

Lots of potential, but too big and young right now to make it easy to see. At first the acidity and tannins were way overwhelming, but it was made easier with lamb chops. Bright red cherry, sour strawberry, kirsch, toasted hazelnut, saline and a long winding finish. I won’t touch this again for 5+ years, but can’t wait to see this in 20+!

Dark cherries, plums, garrigue, pepper, and kirsch create the nose. Rich, lush, polished, and silky with length, energy, and freshness, the sweetness in the kirsch, with its spice-box, peppery herbs, and cherries with a touch of mint-leaf lingers on the palate. Produced from a blend of 60% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and 5% Cinsault, along with other, assorted red and white grape varieties. 60-70% of the harvest is destemmed. Drink from 2024-2040.

A Rhône Rapture (K&L Wine Merchant - San Francisco): Nose of ripe red berries with aromatic floral notes. Awesome freshness of minerality and notes of clean, fresh air in an open field.

Very ripe and primary, I haven’t tasted a wine by VT in many years, but am used to a lighter style. Easy to like, a little harder to love

Dark chocolate covered cherries on nose, dark fruit. I think I opened this too early. Strong tannins, didn't soften much with 1-2 hrs decant.

No details to provide as it was a night of many bottles. Was simply phenomenal already but had a long life ahead.
Had this against 2013 Pegau . La Crau was favored
By all at the table.
