This bottle was *much* better than my last one. I no longer hate it. Dark fruit notes, with a slight richness to it. Alcohol is much better integrated. Still very slushy flavors and not much complexity, but for $18 or so it’s fine.

A dark, deep red, although a little dull in the glass. Notes of berry compote, balsamic, are lifted by hints of florals and rose water. A bright, slightly sweet palette followed by some good acidity to make this a fruit friendly wine, loads of cassis, cranberry, touch of pink peppercorn in the finish. Very drinkable.

My second of four bottles, and a year after my previous one. Flavors are now well integrated, although fruit is still very restrained. Dark, a bit earthy, with some peppery spice notes. One of 3 Beaujolais opened tonight (including another Piron), and my least favorite.

Somewhat restrained nose of dark cherry, violets and coffee (although the later may be due to the veggie burger I’ve been eating with it). Taste is similarly restrained, to put it kindly. It’s 14.5 octane, and to its credit it hides it well. Pleasant enough overall, but unencumbered by an serious complexity. I’ve got 3 left which I’ll drink, but don’t plan on buying more.

Yeesh, what was I thinking. Fruit is largely gone, leaving alcohol bite and something bitter.

I'd say fully mature, integrated. Lovely fruit and good acid. Held up to beef roast very well.

Nose: big ripe red/black fruit. More of the same fruit on the palate, suuuuuuuper ripe, but wet rocks and leathery tannin on the finish.
