Very perfumed aroma, lots of sweet red berries. Cranberry and vanilla flavor with some lime zest on the finish. A little thin and acidic at first but really opened up nicely with air. A crowd pleaser.
Hasn’t moved much in the last 3 months. Hold.

Sea Smoke never disappoints me and this is no exception with bold red berry fruits with integrated dark plum, and a subtle chalk characteristic that is unique to the Santa Rita Hills due to the diatomaceous soil. The wine was very well balanced at such a young age. Very delicious!

Right ruby red. Wonderful floral nose of rose petals, raspberries and best of spring. The palate is nicely balanced, however I expect this will only improve over next few years. Soft tannins and a juicy acidity. Chewy and lingering and delicious elastic cherries. I expect this to start really singing in 2025.

Very complex and enticing aroma - lovely essence of Pinot Noir, raspberry, cherry, cola, and dried flowers. Absolutely delicious sweet red fruit flavor that evolves into a darker fruit finish. Long, long vanilla finish. Well balanced with pointed acidity and very fine tannins.
Drinking exceptionally well right now, but built for the long haul. Drink or hold.

Finished the bottle off after coravining this a few months back. Wine held up nicely. Similar notes to last TN, but was outclassed by a couple other wines being served the same night. By itself though, this is a good pinot representation coming out of CA and out of a very allocated wine producer. I wished there was some left when we busted out the creme brulee as that sort of vanilla, wood note in the Sea Smoke Ten would've been glorious with it.
Drank side by side with 2019 Sea Smoke Southing. Found both to be quite disappointing, with Ten being slightly better of the two due to slightly greater structire and complexity, but both were thin and simple on the mid palate. Both are similar with pomogranite, cherry and raspberry flavors. The Ten has slightly darker fruit profile. Both were quite tight and need 2-3 more years. These both currently drink like a decent/mediocre 2019 Gevrey Village, but quite a bit more expensive than the Gevrey.

Like the Southing, deep ruby with purplish tinge. Unlike the Southing, this was less extracted and better balanced. Still overtly huge red and black fruit, but with less punchiness. Ripe cherries and strawberries, sweet raspberries, tannins are less harsh and the wine mouthfeel is smoother. I can see this getting better with age as well, potentially 92-93. Not too shabby! Paired with (for lack of better words) prosciutto crusted chicken meatloaf, was my favorite dish and pairing of the night.
We drank this alongside with 2019 Chapter 24 Vineyards Pinot and the 2019 Sea Smoke Southing. I thought the acid was brighter and more enjoyable on the Sea Smokes (lifting it up), but the Chapter 24 had the balance that I prefer.
I do not have a ton of experience with Pinot, but Sea Smoke is a producer I have always heard through the grapevine (no pun intended) when it comes to good quality producers in California. I agree with most all notes here. Drank very well with food. I coravin pulled a large glass, but will pull the cork this weekend, hopefully. Score to come when I can spend a tad more time with it. At this point, I am glad I have 3 bottles though.
Not as interesting as 2018 Southing, but still delicious and very compatible with grilled sardines and roast quail. Lush, lots of briny crushed shells and black cherry jello, young, with 7-10 years of life, but I don’t sense the structure to assure evolution. For the price, I expect a bit more complexity, but happy to drink this tonight.

Lovely dark fruits - plum, black cherry and thr sharpeness of cranberry. Has a long smooth finish. Continued to evolve during a meal. Drinking much better than a 2019 Southing I recently had. Will give it at least 9-12 months before opening another 2019 Ten as this while it is very good now, there is plenty of life left in the bottle for evolution.

Sea Smoke Ten Pinot Noir, 2019 750ml Santa Rita Hills, Santa Barbara, CA- Revealing aromas of dark plum, black cherry and currants, along with notes of cedar and a hint of earthiness. Remarkably rich in texture, this outstanding Pinot was aged 18 months in 100% new French oak. Long, smooth velvety finish.

Initially very fruity / too fruity, then there’s a tannic spine where everything becomes flat and thin. Needs more time to sleep and balance out.

Big Starwberry and cherry fruit with layers of intergated oak. Med buy firm tannin and good acid. Great now and will age well.
