Blind at Hart & Cru. First thought new world Bdx varietal, mainly merlot, since there was cherry, plum, and soft texture. Then went Chinon and felt pretty darn sure, since the green and spicy character came out more as it cooled. Moderate tannin and dark color ruled out pinot. There was an interesting wintergreen note at the start that reminded me more of CA reds. But felt balanced overall.

When just opened, this wine has a character of black currant. After a while it turns more into plum. Notes of tobacco and some coffee. Nice tannins in the mouth, good structure.
I would somehow like parsley in the food accompanying this wine. Paired as a Bordeaux to charcoal grilled sirloin with bearnaise sauce and celery root, very good!

Cassis and black fruit, nice on the palate and decent finish. Nothing that stands out, but good value for money.
