Tasted blind. Med yellow. Wow, wonderful nose with apple cider, pear, honey, quince, fantastic complexity, some nuts. The caramelized sugar, rich palate, not oxidative, age coming from the bottle not the oak. A really great surprise to start this evening. 96+

Straw color. Initial small bubbles flatten out quickly-still with enough fizz to be satisfying. Nice complexity but age becoming obvious. Need to drink up.

Perfect cork, super-compressed. Look: Lt amber color; very few but super tiny bubbles (Don sized) that upon warming sent nice trending bubble lines from the center. Nose: Lovely floral, honeysuckle, citrus, pear, slight apple. Body: 1% milk mouthweight Taste: Bright fruit, honeysuckle, citrus, pear, slight caramel. Very "feminine", as anticipated. Finish: 30-45 seconds. Summary: A lovely delicate wine with nice aromatics, fading effervesence, but refreshing light fruit and nice finish. Probably a good idea to drink up now or within 1-2 yrs (unless one prefers more amber and toffee and about zero bubbling I suspect). 91 pts.

Decanter Champagne Masterclass 2007 (Landmark Hotel, London): Rather watery yellow-gold. Almost no visible bead. Very crisp, white-fruit nose. Complex, toasty, also floral. Fine but high acidity, a line of chalky minerality, fairly tart, citrous finish. Very good [equal quantities of C, PN and PM]

Fine, but not as good to me as any Schramsberg at 1/3 of this bottle's price.
Drink now.

Blunden's Grand Marque Shampoo Tasting (London): For me, the definition of finesse. Light-footed but also very sure-footed. Difficult year but great execution.

A slightly smoky nose. Creamy-foamy mousse with lots of fruit, citrus and minerality.Nice, rounded presence on the palate, elegant stuff!

Very small bubbles. Nice and rounded. Surprisingly mellow. Pleasant but not a great champagne.

Lightly toasted marshmallow, citrus notes, not significantly bready/yeasty/toasty. Wonderful mouthfeel.

Champagne Offline - Revenge of the Fizz (Snows - London): Lighter colour, quite strong pinot nose, but quite floral, nice balance, good but slightly uninteresting.
