  • Deep purple color in glass, it’s not overly fruit forward with more subtle notes of black fruit and tobacco. On the palette its a well balanced wine with some minerality and some fruit but neither outwardly in your face. Medium finish with moderate acidity.

  • This was an PNP 85, very disappointed as I haven’t had this in a decade and was always a solid if not complex cab. But since many 2018 cabs seem closed, I decided to try in a day. I have never had a wine improve as much as this, so either wait, or a long decant.

  • Great dark color but the nose rather light and ordinary. On the palate, dark and red berry fruit, plum and some currants. The wine by appearance looks full bodied but it's more medium in body. I would characterize this wine as very youthful and underdeveloped at this stage, a rather common thread with many 2018’s. I have always liked Turnbull Cabs and would purchase them yearly, they have been steady performers over the years, but I would wait on this one. With half a bottle left, I will give an update if I detect improvement but this is an 89-90 Point wine at this stage. This will probably be better once it develops and when it gets it’s legs under it.
