  • Bright aroma of dried redcurrant and plums, tea leaves, toasted cumin and white pepper on the nose. Not overly forward and alcoholic some very ripe Malbec can exhibit. Palate is spicy and a touch oily. Opaque structure and full-bodied, not revealing much nuances. Finish was one dimension but clean. A daily drinking Malbec.

  • {screwcap, 13.8%} Wilypod’s note is spot on. Tobacco, liquorice, and yes, a bit of rubber hose. Malt and dark chocolate too. Plenty of warm heft on the medium/full palate; it has low/medium acidity and low dusty tannins not apparently deriving from very much oak. Does have a thick texture and an equally warm, if somewhat short finish. Competent if workaday stuff. Fair value for twenty bucks I guess, but not something I’d seek out again.

  • Like a lot of other decent Argentina malbecs -- some dark chocolate, rubber hose, and violet aromatics. Not too tannic but went well with Tournedos de Boeuf.
