This wine is a treasure with a light delicate body and nose of tobacco and dried fruit. Slightly floral taste but backed up by structure of pepper and tannin. Well done.

opened for an hour and then through a vinturi into a decanter and back into the cellar for 2 hours. Beautiful aromatic nose. Red fruits dominated with some oak - slightly drying on the finish. Will try the next one in an year or two.

Decanted 1 hour. Nice nose of strawberry, cherry and some cranberry. Medium bodied with the same red fruit profile on the palate together with some complementary oak. Finish is moderate and a little dry. Much more balanced than the previous bottle i had a few months ago with much less heat. Still some tannins to shed but this bottle drank quite nicely.

The alcohol seemed a bit less obtrusive this time, some big fruit with a slightly stewed characteristic, not as fresh and vibrant as I'd like, but dense, powerful, and extremely dry on the finish.

Even after a 3 hour decant this seemed somewhat closed. Dark ruby in color with some strawberry and cherry on the nose. Medium bodied with the same fruit profile on the palate but not enough fruit to contain the alcohol. The finish is a little hot with gritty tannins in evidence. Maybe this will come around in time but it just seems too short on fruit to develop much further. Disappointing.

Very nice. Started out fiercely tannic but beautiful bright strawberry fruit emerged with air. This is an early consumption Barolo. Not sure about the long haul here. Does not appear to be headed for a shutdown period. Should be there by now if it was.

Definitely too young. The hot 2003 vintage gives a solid alcohol heat presence along with some coarse tannins. There are some floral and berry aromatics but the palate is very closed now. Even two days being opened didn't allow much depth to reveal. Medium bodied. Will wait another few years on the next bottles.

Brightly colored. Sweet, bright nose of pomegranate, orange citrus, dusty blackberry, wood. Some menthol and rose petal accents develop with time. Rather simple palate that nicely combines body and drive, with a sense of lightness that belies it's 15% alcohol. Finishes with strong but balanced tannins... Strikes me as more barbera-like than barolo like... Wine reminds me of Cali Pinot.

- Garnet color - Good, but seemed to be nearing the end of its prime. Had with dad and Italian food.

Big alcohol on this wine, 15% on the label and you can sense it. It overshadowed the typical nebbiolo characteristics a bit.
