Clear medium ruby/purple; clean medium plus nose of blackberry jam, soil, barnyard and savoury herbs; dry; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; high alcohol; medium plus body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of cocoa; medium plus finish; drink now or in 5 years; fresh, well made wine - wished for more intensity and complexity - a little simple; would benefit from further development

Mini tasting tonight #4. Burrowing owl Athene here we go! A wine from a favorite winery & expectations were high but also some doubt.
The wine did not disappoint, aromas off the bat were welcoming, cherry, black fruits, vanilla, and flowers.
Tasted nice with the above notes along with baking spice, plum, and a hint of smoke. Medium (-) tannins & acidity. I'll drink this vintage again in a few years when the score should trend up.

Black currant, cherry jam, vanilla, and toasty spice nose. Full and assertive palate with good structure and balance; long, toast oak finish with a subtle hint of iodine Brett. 4/5

A competent wine. While youthful, it’s easy to drink now - would liken it to a high class pizza wine. While I struggled to come up with specific fruit notes, I enjoyed each sip.

Dark berries, cocoa and spice. Recommend opening a two years.

Tobacco on the nose.
Smooth, but strong alcohol leading in to the finish. Very nice length. Complex, and not ready.
Drink 2024-2025

Nez viande fumée, poivre. En bouche, ampleur moyenne. Tout est bien equibré, les tanins sont beaux. Agréable
