  • What is there to say? This is pure joy in bottled form. I am sure that Miran is going to be upset with me for posting about this wine, but I feel like sharing joy is important to do. Prickly acidity in the most playful way with gooseberries and all together in the most utterly delicious nectar that disappears in the glass so fast that evaporation doesn’t even seem like the culprit.

  • Aromas of pink grapefruit, lime, green apple, blackcurrant, ground cherry, green melon, mint, elderflower, a little airy peppery broth... Juicy and effusive on the palate, and gorgeous grip, is that some tannin? Persistent and pure, so lively and fresh, green apple, citrus and chalkiness mingle together long and pure, this wine just gushes from start to finish. I love it.

This has a little dissolved CO2, and the glass I'm drinking is disappearing fast enough that the gas will not dissipate much, but I'll revisit this tomorrow, as I expect it will be much amplified when that gas is less prominent.

In another life, I'm a Scheurebe farmer thinking about co-ferments...

Only got a quick taste on day two, it didn't really budge, was still super zippy, a little sweet, luscious and cutting at once. So good.

  • Klar, lys, nesten vanndig farge. 90 p.

  • Very light in color. Fresh and mineralic. Fruity with pear. A hint of petroleum and white pepper. Too young right now and will probably benefit from years in the cellar when the acidity mellows down.

  • ripe mango, carraway, some CO2, unripe strawberry, medium acidity and balanced sweetness

Interesting wine, far away from an exhausting Scheurebe halbtrocken that is often made from this variety

  • Shared a bottle with a long time friend who has probably drunk more Scheurebe than the rest of the global population combined. We both agreed that the wine was good but nothing special.

Still don’t get what people see in this.

  • To me this wine is pure happiness and when I drink it I find it nearly impossible to focus my mind on the tasting notes that I am experiencing. What I am struck with is more of a feeling of overwhelming pleasure that leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy.
This delicious elixir had a wonderful tingle of acidity on the light and pure frame of cape gooseberry and tangy apples.
That is all I can put together in terms of notes. But I can say that this is like butterflies dancing on your tongue. A wine that speaks to the heart of pleasure and makes you happy to be alive.

  • Interesting and tasty wine, though I honestly don’t see what all the fuss is about. It tastes like Scheurebe (kinky beast that it is - sage, grapefruit, apple skin and a touch of cannabis fritter), and has good acidity. I don’t get the depth that was in the HGS Scheurebe wines. It’s fun, but doesn’t have an extra gear beyond that.

  • This bottling is always an absolute treat for me and something that I look forward to the opportunity to open one. This was my first 2020 that I have opened and this is a racy iteration of this special wine.
It is almost completely colorless in appearance. Super bright, tasting just barely off-dry and bursting with gooseberry on a mineral and smoke infused palate. At this point, this vintage doesn’t seem to quite have the alluring notes of guava that I am so drawn to, but it does really express the beautiful vineyard from which it comes. Absolutely lip smacking with so much energy limestone driven notes of salinity.
So happy to have more of this in the cellar and can’t wait to open my next one.

  • "Brunch is the gamay of meals" Vol. 2 (Chicago, IL): Colourless -- this is some very, very pale stuff. The nose isn't quite as scheurebe as I would have liked; it's missing a lot of the tropical mango/passionfruit notes that make scheurebe what it is. Surprisingly drier in style on the palate as well, I may well have guessed this to be more like a feinherb. Nonetheless, this is undeniably just straight-up drinkable especially thanks to its screaming acidity. It's not a complex wine, but just far too easy to mindlessly drink. Give me a bendy straw.

  • EYE: almost colorless. NOSE: peony, posies, citron, pomelo, cinnamon candy, lemon-lime grass, ginger. Serrano chilis. Wow. Incredible olfactory content here. Smoldering flagstone. All of it is pristinely organized. Its immense force is hidden by its pattern and detail. MOUTH: gas prickle. abundant, sweet herbs, trailing over containment structures. Energetic, tart sweetness. Artisan bath soap. Dill custard. Boning knife stabs of acidity. I'm interested to see where this goes over the next ten years. TIME: finishing the bottle after 25 hours open: kiwi, lychee, oowee. White grape juice, infused with phenolics. Greengage. Yellow mace. Insistent acidity, shaped in radiant spines.

  • A very clean, fresh, and steely wine with honeysuckle and grapefruit on a light bodied and slightly off-dry platform.

  • Really energised, packed with sherberty, grassy, pithy lime and mint. Excellent. Long taut finish, puckering.
