P&P for my February bottle in the NW Wine Report 2024 Rhone Blend Challenge. Delicious wine, with lush black and blue fruits, vanilla, hints of white pepper and tobacco. In a great place right now, and this drank wonderfully over 2 days. Drink now - 2034.

Quick 30 min decant. Bright red and black berry fruits, tobacco, sweet vanilla oak and milk chocolate flavors. Really approachable despite it's lack of age; these Parabellum wines are built to drink young. Super enjoyable wine though! Drink now - 2029.

Rhone varieties in sweet and polished form, with minimal savory elements. Enjoyable for what it is, yet beware the alcy, which seems higher than the listed 14.8. A few years in bottle will likely round it out somewhat. 91-92.

What can I say…these guys at Force Majure can make some darn good wine! Love this one. It is full of lush, succulent dark and mouthfilling fruits and smoke and pepper. Lovely depth to the aromas and flavors with wonderful tannins and a medium to long finish It is consistent with other Parabellum vintages I’ve tasted. Each of them has been such a pleasure to drink. You’ll love this one - young, but delivers a flavor profile of an older bottle. Drink now or hold and see how much better it can get.

I double decanted for 3-4 hours and that seemed to do the trick. Very purple in the glass with an intense aroma of blue fruit, black pepper, and caramel. M+ tannins and M acidity.
It doesn't have the minerality of Rocks District fruit despite Force Majeure's winery being in Milton-Freewater. That's probably reserved for the higher-end stuff, though. Regardless, Force Majeure's wines are built to age, even their lower end Syrah. I'd wait a few more years to crack the next one.

This is my second tasting of this wine. Double decanted and left on the counter. The wine descriptors remain relatively the same from my bottle in September, but this was more austere on day-1 and best on day-3.

Garnet purple colored, medium-full bodied, complex concentrated vibrant black fruits with notes of olive tapenade, black pepper and tea with hints of bitter dark mocha chocolate with dusty tannins on a lingering finish. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2021/11/force-majeure-parabellum-coulee-red.html

Big, thick Syrah heavy Rhône blend. Was okay and quite closed on opening - gave it an hour of air before having with an elk burger topped with mushrooms. I was worried about the 14.9 label but, with food, the fruitiness of the young Syrah delivered.
Had 1/3 bottle left in the fridge overnight, and it was more integrated and less abruptly oaky on the nose day 2.
Compared to my memory of the 16 and 17, this was not as dynamic but perhaps better made than past vintages.
I’m going to lay down my other bottle for 3-5 years.

Opened the day before, poured off a little, then recorked. Deep purple color, hints of rocky minerality, smooth sweet nose, hints of olive and black pepper, with vibrant black fruits. Medium bodied, with dusty tannins and a medium-long finish. This is really delicious and outperforms its price point. Very impressive!

Two-hour decant. Purchased 8 btls, thought I'd give one an early try. Nice dark red and black fruits, nothing out of balance. Should continue improve with some age.

Young yet - still a fair amount of oak/vanilla, but discernibly syrah dominant. Will be a point or two better in a year or three

Good, needs time though. Very well balanced. Tastes like a Syrah with the complexity of the added Rhone varietals. Total winner.
