Really rough on the first night. Had it open all day and it was still very aggressive, bitter, tart, and iron-y. Second night, completely different animal. Softer, enticing, and a better program of flavor. Beautiful, dark ruby color with a dash of garnet age. No sediment. The legs are Medium. It smells like Cranberry, Black currant (cassis), Raspberry, Orange, Prune, Mushroom, Forest floor, Coconut, Vanilla, Iris, and Violet. It tastes like Strawberry, Black currant (cassis), Prune, Cherry, Dust, Mineral, Mushroom, Coffee, Vanilla, Black Olive, and Tobacco. The body is Medium/Full. The wine has Polished texture. The wine finishes Medium-Long. Recommend holding another 2+ years. 5+12+17+8 = 92

Fantastic wine. Ruby red, with a nose of red and black fruits. Fig, blackberry, raspberry, cedar, touch of volatile acidity. Taste was black fruit driven, bitter chocolate, cedar, amaretto, earth (as it opens up), black truffle, hint of heat with a good acidity. Dry, long finish of black fruit, with some alcohol heat on finish. Great with both venison and squid ink pasta.

The Villa dei Misteri has an intense, ruby-red color with soft fruit and spice aromas and full, enveloping flavors. Complex, yet balanced and perfectly-structured, the Villa dei Misteri displays fine, elegant tannins.

Fully mature. Rich. Complex. Earthy. Savory. Minerally. I like this. Starting to show tertiary elements. Nice bite on the finish.

Lots of oak. Somewhat disjointed. Has lots of potential. Amazing this tastes so young with fair amount of tannins
