  • G. Gilbert nailed it....good chilled...better cold. With or without food it's delicious. Fruity ( apples and red pear) with a touch of white flower and a little spice...Long finish and med+ acid. Have had many of these over the summer with charcuterie or by itself. Costco for 14$...

  • light golden colour, shiny, clear. nose: ripe stone fruits (peach, apricot), rope apples, orange zest, tangerine; some limestone minerality; m(+) intensity. Taste: m(+) acidity; m(+) body; pronounced FI; fruit - apples, peach, apricot, pineapple with some touch of lemon; thicker long finish with pomelo aftertaste. astonishingly refreshing as for this structure and ripe fruit profile. Very Good.

  • a second tasting of the 2019 Cantina Terlano Pinot Bianco (in Austria and Germany: Weissburgunder), this time at 12 degrees C, bears out the recommendation that the wine will do better at colder temperatures, as do many of the wines from the high altitude DOC Alto Adige, Südtirol, which seem to have more intense flavors on the cool side

  • 13.5% alcohol; imported by Banville Wine Merchants, New York City; medium weight foil, composite cork with aroma of fresh cut Fuji apples; 'estate bottled by Cantina Terlano, Terlano, Italia'; the label and the cork remind us that 'Cantina' can also be expressed as 'Kellerei', and 'Terlano' as 'Terlan', a symbol of the bilingual heritage of the Alto Adige DOC; fast legs, light crystalline 12 karat gold; nose of apples, white grapes, citrus, white currant juice, enmeshed in alcohol; opened and tasted 15 minutes later at approximately 19 degrees C; full bodied interweaving of fruit and minerals/forest floor; the nose was very fruit forward, the tasting less so -- the short finish requires you to enjoy it while it is still in your mouth; one reviewer recommended drinking it nice and cold -- 19 degrees is definitely too warm -- try 12; a refreshing wine to drink solo on a hot Florida September afternoon; or pair with oily, cold-water fish like line-caught Coho salmon or Chilean sea bass, grilled on a pecan wood board; or try it with fried chicken or as a chaser for an hors-d'oeuvres or dessert cheese platter

  • Fleshy pear with hints of yellow tropical fruit and citrus, salty rocks. A little almondy vanilla. M+ acid, M to M+ body. Delivers what you expect from quality Pinot Bianco and from the 2019 vintage (ie ripe fruit but also good acid balanced flavor profile).

Naturally this doesn’t compare to Vorberg, it lacks some concentration and intensity, but for $16 this is very good. I will buy more of the 2019 if I see it and will look for the 2020 too. There’s a lot to like about this vintage but ultimately I’d prefer a cooler one. Also I would drink this relatively cool as it feels too oily and ripe as it bears room temp. Paired well with with a chickpea, kale, cauliflower pasta with fennel seed, cumin, garlic, lemon.

    ~6/10

    Pommes et herbes avec
un peu d'amande et du miel.
Assez long en finale et tonifiant.

  • Am writing this note while drinking a glass I saved refrigerated overnight.

Is still a very solid glass, amazingly good. Would have again any day, was great last night with a very spicy chili and again tonight with swordfish.
