  • Alsace BYO (@ Erik): Lovely clean flavors but certainly an orange wine. Green spices, passionfruit, grapefruit and clementine.

  • Very interesting and fun wine. The nose is packed with sweet exotic fruits and quite a bit of funk
The palate on the other hand is bone dry and more driven by lemon, grapefruit, funk and a piercing acidity.
It really surprised me a bit as I would have, from the nose, expected something a bit more conventional. But, it surprised me in a good way!
The wine were quite dark orange, so I thought that it might have been made in an "orange" style but I am still not sure. As the wine got warmer in the glass, I did detect a bit of tannins which could indicate that it was made similar to an orange wine but not overly so. Clearly a wine driven by a high acidity and funk which made it very interesting.
