The wine is clear and bright with a deep garnet colour.
The nose is clean and fully developed, showing medium(-) intensity aromas of bottle development (green olives, mushrooms), oak (vanilla) and hints of blue flowers (lavender). The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has medium fine-grained tannins and a medium(+) alcohol. It has a medium(+) body and medium(-) intensity flavours of bottle development (green olives, mushrooms), oak (vanilla) and hints of blue flowers (lavender). The finish is medium(-).
The wine is past its best, so I am not going to assess its quality. It must be noted, however, that it has survived remarkably well, there are no problems or unpleasant flavours, the wine has just lost its fruity flavours and freshness. It still can be consumed, albeit it does not produce much pleasure.

Found this case hidden in storage - kind of knew it was there but hadn't paid attention to the drinking dates. Definitely past it's prime - it has lost its depth. Too bad

Drank with a variety of Asian foods: lamb, duck, scallops and spicy string beans. Barely-there tannins give way to great juicy plum and slight tapenade flavors. Surprised the red went with the seafood, but overall very good for the price in the restaurant (Wild Ginger in Seattle).

Good, but probably at its best now. Have had a bottle every two months or so for the past year and this latest tasting suggests that from here on it may start to loose intensity.

A very good intro level cuvée. Purple colour. Pure nose of black fruit, mint and pepper. Although concentrated on the palate, there's nothing hot here. Juicy in a cool sense, dark, black fruit, good length and a slightly bitter bite to finish things off. A more muscular and less elegant version of Gauby's entry level. I would give it another year in the cellar. A bit expensive (QPR), but I'll probably buy one or two...
