Deep garnet color. Rich ripe black plum aromas along with a dose of grape jelly. Intensely fruity, almost jammy so I can see why some would feel it is sweet but to me it's loaded with plum and grapey flavors while on the drier side. Certainly bigger bodied and fruitier than previous vintages I've had. Still a very pleasant wine for the price. Enjoying it right now with spicy Indian cuisine and the jammy fruit of the wine pairs very well with the cuisine heat. Medium finish. I'd definitely buy it again.

Medium garnet colored with high viscosity (15% ABV). The nose has medium intensity aromas of black plum, vanilla, blackberry, game, bramble, dried herbs, baking spice, ripe black cherry and wildflowers. The palate is dry with medium acidity, a full body and medium tannins. This is a rich wine with layers of dark, ripe fruit interlaced with oak nuance, telltale game and some dried herbal notes. It has a medium (-) length finish as far as the fruit goes, but the tannins are super fine and caress my gums for quite a while. This is a $15 Monastrell, aka Mourvèdre that really brings value and gets 91 points from me making it a 5 star effort. Drink till 2029 with steaks or even stews, like the Goulash I am whipping up tonight.

Nose of black currant, blueberry, toasted oats. Moderate silky tannins with moderate acidity. Strong palate of blueberry with dark fruit and peppery finish. Decent length. Wine is too sweet for my palate

Great QPR, PNP, nice red and dark fruit, tannins subdued which surprised me for a young 100% mourvedre wine, persistent finish, little acidity, no complaints

Almost four hours in the decanter. Deep dark ruby. Smelled raisin and prune at first, then after the decant was done it added some tobacco and gamey notes; the taste is black fruit and leathery. Just a touch hot, with strong tannin and not enough acidity to keep up, though it isn't flabby. Finishes medium on the savory tobacco notes. Good value as always.

My first experience of this wine was way back in 2006 with the 2004 vintage. I recall it being my first exposure to the "new wave" of Spanish reds that were a departure from the overly woody, astringent things that had been aged in barrels for an eternity. My notes from back then don't differ markedly from this vintage some 14 years on. Ripe, plummy fruit, slightly off-dry, earthy. Great value for money.

I like this wine more every time I try it. I’m a cab drinker so I have to resist comparing across varietals but in my opinion, this is as good or better than many more expensive California wines. Dry, medium-full body, notable acidity, and mouth drying tannins. Probably will improve in a couple more years.

Blackberry, ripe strawberries, vanilla, slight hint of baking spice. Medium acidity, medium body, short finish. Not a ton going on or pronounced. It's OK.

First thing that hits the nose is the alcohol. Then some stewed black fruits and oak.
Palate has ripe, stewed black fruit (blueberries, tangy blackberries) with oak chips. Lots of heat here on the palate as well. Tannins were a bit stringy and little brusque with a bitter, medium+ finish. There did seem to be some RS in the wine.
The big fruit and alcohol are there but it's all disorganized a bit. The fruit itself is interesting enough, however. Once again, a lot of heat and fruit, little else in complexity. I liked the $10.99 price tag. 87 pts.

Wine shows a healthy color and decent nose and plenty of fruit but is overly sweet and lacking balance. Feels thin on the palate. Needs more acidity and/or tannins to provide a stronger backbone.
