Not my style I guess but this wine had a slightly sulfur taste which did not dissipate even with several hours of breathing. Slightly peppery and medium finish . It was a bargain at Costco but probably will not purchase again

New wine to me. Deep ruby. Mixture of black & red fruits on the nose. Blackberry, brambles with some coffee, chocolate on the palate. Medium bodied, well integrated tannins. Very good and should be ok for 3-5 years I think.

Very nice wine, great QPR. Deep red with purple edges. Blackberries on the nose. Full mouthfeel, ripe dark friuts, sharp tannins on the end. Lingering finish. Again, very nice. Would buy again.

This was surprisingly nice and not as over oaked/manufactured as I expected. Still it’s full bodied and like most Numanthia it’s geared to Napa Cabernet fans. Dark plum, blackberry, charred/smokey earth and a good helping of oak. I’d easily buy again at $17.

I bought this wine to drink along with several others to try on fishing trip to the Mississippi delta. It is terrific and a great value. James Suckling awarded it a 96 and I concur. Well balanced with a slight bit of dark fruit. Entirely enjoyable.

District blinds w Shang, Peter (District, SF): Red 1 Deep ruby purple. (Peter thinks med plus) Ripe nose. Deep. Raisinated. Med minus intensity. (Peter: not fruity enough to tilt new world) 14.5% alcohol (actually 15%). Medium minus acid. Plush. Dark fruit. Maybe 25% new oak but carries it well. Medium tannins. Pretty plush and fine.
Not getting any vegetal character or black pepper from the palate.
Laterals. - California Merlot. - California cab - would expect more acid and tannins. - California Bdx blend. - California Rhône blend - too much color. - I’m blanking on full bodied red laterals. - Australian ahoraz.
Final guess: CA Merlot. $30. 2020 Peter: cotes du Rhône. More savory. Lower intensity.
Analysis: maybe I was off on acid?
Tech sheet: 16 months in first year French oak.

Opened and decanted 2 hours. Big, tannic and syrupy. Did not improve dramatically with air. Not a fan, don't understand the hype.

dark solid red, aromas of fresh blackberries and mushrooms, tastes powder and coffee grounds, dry flinty. A bit 1-dimensional and hot.

Color. Stronger dark red. Still translucent.
Nose. Cherry, Cherry liquor, cocoa powder, sweet tobacco.
Palate. Cocoa powder and grippy tannins. Decent acidity helps the fruit balance out.

Had over a couple of days saving with the Corvin. Blackberry, graphite and a dark earthiness. Good wine, great price.
