Very nice. Has aromas of tangerine and lime. Honey flavor with a touch of earthiness. Somebody described it in another review as gravely. The bottle was a bit old but I did not taste any signs of this.

* Nose: A quite "creamy" nose with honey, buttery & smoky oak, sweet lemon and chalky minerality. * Taste: Mature fruit, well integrated oak. Not very complex but very harmonious, balanced and impressively rich for a Bourgogne Blanc! * Absolutely mature now and I would not recommend further cellaring.

Hokkaido Supper at Kat and Yuwen's (Kat and Yuwen's): I had quite forgotten having had this some two-and-a-half years ago. Served blind again, I was once again knocked over by this wine - it is a superb little Bourgogne, punching way above its class. It had a lovely nose of ripe apples and white peach, some chalky aromas, and nicely lifted spice and floral accents. Very nice and quite complex - certainly not a bouquet one would expect from a wine at this level. The palate was a lovely drink too. It had a nice white fruited depth edged by sweeter stone-fruit shades, an nice chalky mineral counterpoint and good, fresh finish with a blush of spice at the end, all held together with a nice freshness that was very surprising for a 2005 white. This was not super complex, but it was certainly not a simple, facile wine either. It has lost some of its sunny fruit that I liked so much in the last bottle, but there is still a lot to like here. Given the balance and feel of the wine, I do not think it is at any risk of going downhill soon either. A great Bourgogne Blanc, drinking nicely at the moment.

Burgundy or Maybe Not - dinner with Fabrice Amiot of Domaine Guy Amiot (Kingyo, Marina Square): This was nice wine - quite amazing quality for a Bourgogne blanc actually. It had a lovely nose, with honeyed inflections, yellow fruited hints and a lovely bit of chalky minerality playing alongside little high-toned wafts of spice and flowers. A nicely complex and very attractive bouquet. The palate was lovely too. It had the richness of a fat vintage, so defintion was not brilliant, but this was underpinned by a nice fleshy depth and plenty of minerality pulling away into a long, slightly nutty finish. Solid stuff, there was a tremendous amount of depth and complexity for a Bourgogne and it was drinking very nicely now. Kudos.

Just a gorgeous warm day here in Seattle, and this wine was perfect for late afternoon on the deck (though to be honest it was so nice out that I would probably wax poetic about Blue Nun). Golden yellow. Crisp, with good acidity. Flavors of oak, hay, and honey, and even some background tropical flavors (mainly coconut).

PnP at Chez Panisse. Simple drinking; crisp but nothing significant to write about.

Hint of gravel to start, very long indeed. Through citrus ending with honeyed melon and white peach. Delicious.

Honeyed, white peachy nose. Ripe rich honeyed peach and roasted apricot and a long long finish.

Simply delicious. Full, round classic puligny with long finish. Had been worried I might have left it too long but has life left in it yet.

At Champagne and White Burgundy tasting. Minimal notes. Crisp, and a little herbal.
